We proudly present to you the 2020 re-release of Supakings „Back and forth“ Originally released in 1999 it was a banger back then and we decided to give you the remastered original and the ever so incredible Sounds of Life mix. Fun fact: Martin Buttrich was a vital part of Sound of Life. Lucky us, we had a great remix delivered by Michael Gray, who put his golden touch on this gem…we´re looking at a top ten Traxsource record here :) Also, a long time friend of the label, Mo Funk, who had his first release with us in 2018 with „Magic“ was itching to put his jackin´vibes on „Back and forth“. Purple ice is a 24 year old producer from Dublin, Ireland. He has previously released with House of Disco, Ravanelli Disco Club and the Valencia based label theBasement Discos. His unique style of Disco infused House has caught the attention of the Houseum, Gazzz, Definite Party Material and other Youtube tastemaker channels who have all shared his music over the last two years. 
In this mix he explores his love for under appreciated Disco tracks as well as some of his favourite old school NY/NJ House tracks from the likes of Kerri Chandler & Masters at Work.

It’s deep in life’s darker times where the brightest lights shine. In the midst of moping and moaning, certified ‘soul boy’ & DJ Lee Jeffries and producer song writer, Matt Early who has worked along side the likes of Frankie Knuckles & Grant Nelson thought, like a lot of us: ‘fuck this!’ They built a studio and enlisted a host of names to help collaborate on a new project. Soon, they found themselves slipping back into their dancing shoes and creating serious magic.

The boys’ new imprint, Lockdown Records, has one goal: to bring together house music’s greats from around the world to create – what they aren’t afraid to call – anthems.

Lockdown’s debut release is a right old groover from the two, featuring vocals from Will Bee. ‘Love Is Growing Deeper’ is a smile inducing house track bursting with soulful brilliance. DJ Spen & Gary Hudgins, Opolopo, Brevil, Ray Hurley and OneOhOne step up for remixes on the weighty EP, giving their own unique energies.

Spen and Gary take things even deeper with a focus on that naughty rumbling bass while Opolopo gets extremely groovy with a tantalizing jam over the track. We also hear the track taken up a notch, pushing into minimal and sleek tech-y territory. It’s a real sign of the range of styles the label is prepared to show off, effortlessly dishing out old school grooves and pushing them into contemporary arrangements.

The release is out now on lockdownrecords.co.uk and officially from January 2021 on all digital and streaming platforms.
