Sajjad Ali and Fariha Pervez return to Coke Studio with Jhoolay Lal. The Coke Studio composition spans the entire breadth and length of our soil, infusing a modern folk flavor to the song. The arrangement offers a diverse palette of flavors, textures and sounds that come together to enrich Jhoolay Lal.

Jhoolay Lal” a prayer which is as old as the river Indus itself, is commonly appropriated across the subcontinent. Traditionally a dhamaal, the song is intended to surrender oneself to the rhythm of universality. The lyrics praises the virtues of the revered Sufi saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (AS) of Sehwan, celebrating the spiritual link asvaseela from him to his quintessential pir, Hazrat Ali (AS). The Coke Studio version maximizes the harmony of Fariha & Sajjad’s voices; their voices are suffused with joy, strength and fragility in equal measure.

The Coke Studio houseband adds a more modern sense of percussions to the original dholak and tabla beats whilst Tanveer Tafu’s rubab solos and Sajid’s flute provides an eloquent yearning counterpoint to the song.

Staying true to their decades old sonic aesthetic, Strings' fourth song 'Mil Gaya' from their ongoing album "30" takes the listener through a melodious experience with the band's soulful vocals and smooth guitar tones. The lyrics of the song beautifully pen the thoughts and longings of a lover. 
Directed by Kamal Khan and shot in Lyari, the video speaks to the viewer on another level. It narrates the journey of a misguided teenager who loses his way to the obscenities of society but is able to find a light that guides his way out of it. The video is extremely relatable to the youth of Pakistan, who need to be guided out of their distractions onto a more constructive and productive path.
