Last year, Nicholas Palermo Jr. and Johnny "D" DeMairo launched a new series of retrospective releases featuring choice gems originally released on the latter's Henry Street Music label in the 1990s and early 2000s. Volume two in the series naturally contains some choice, remastered gems, not least the warming, sax-sporting deep house bounce of 2001 classic "Wild Kingdom", which is also presented in two new versions from Nico Lahs: the deeper, slower and more emotive "2022 Vision", and the ultra-deep, subtly jazz-funk-flecked "U Fit" Mix, which bobs along at a pleasingly head-nodding tempo. Elsewhere, there's another chance to savour 1999's smooth, disco-tinged "The Blow" and the sweaty, bumpy brilliant of 1998's "Smoke", an excitement-packed loop jam.

Percussionist Takashi Nakazato is well known for his work with Jazztronik and Kyoto Jazz Massive and is now back on Ten Lovers Music with a stunning new Japanese Latin Jazz EP. The Takashi Nakazato Set are the following musicians featuring over the four tracks;

Willy Calderon (Timbales), Yu Hagiwara (Alto Sax/Soprano Sax), Kei Ishi (Baby Bass), Miwa Kashima (Rhodes/Piano), Ryo Kawasaki (Electric Bass/Double Bass), Takahiro Miyazaki (Tenor Sax), Oli Savill (Congas), Ayumi Suzuki (Vibraphone/Marimba), Mitsuru Tanaka (Trumpet), Hayato Yamazaki (Drums) and of course Takashi Nakazato himself (Batá Drums, Cheqere, Cowbell, Claves, Wind Chime, Chaworó, Congas, Bongo, Catá, Iyá, Vibra Slap, Cymbal).

The EP was mixed by Eiji Hirano at Studio Happiness in Japan and mastered by Jose Rico in Madrid, Spain. All four tracks are quality pieces of music in their own right and we were more than happy to commit this to vinyl.

Julien "Larry Quest" Berland is a young music maker, DJ and arts activist. He was born a french,
lived in London for a while and recently settled in sunny Lisboa. He is a trained keyboardist and a
seasoned producer with works released on revered labels such as Delusions of Grandeur or
Pleasure of Love - and of course Percebes Música, having had his debut on the label with "Faíscas",
released in 2022 and still going strong in DJ playlists.
Julien's sound is brimming with references to solid historic soundscapes, particularly the deepest
end of the Chicago House music spectrum. Berland composes and produces music like someone
who's learned lessons from the likes of such legends as Larry Heard, Boo Williams or Derrick
Carter, but also underground heroes like Ricardo Miranda or Chris Gray.
His EP "Austro" presents three tracks, pristinely created and mixed to weave a tightly knit texture
of deep house that combines elements of jazz, gospel, funk and soul under a relentless electronic
backdrop with clear references to rave culture and bleepy acid.
While "Forest Jump" starts things off with a smooth beginning and takes off to dizzying heights,
"Shoredance" bounces organ stabs with sharp snares and a thigh slapping beat and "303 Moonrise"
evocates that classic, old school UR vibe to great effect.
