Mean To Me hitting Beatport's pages 20th Jan 2012 on Messed Up Music!

Perceptual Eq are the electronic marriage of the northern and southern hemispheres, bringing together Sydney native Paul Lavell and North Londoner Jay Fisher. Paul has been honing his skills in production for ten years and met Jay soon after moving to London. Jay had already spent many years on the DJ circuit in the capital, and the two friends soon realised that they were like minded and driven enough to form a creative partnership and start making their own music.
Perceptual Eq started DJing as a duo three years ago with a set up of turntables and sequencers and have now focused their energies on production as well. Not wanting to get bogged down in any one genre, the versatile pair are accomplished at producing all manner of different sounds: from Indy Groove and Nu Disco, to Progressive House or Minimal Techno, the duo happily list Pleasurekraft, UMEK, Two Lone Swordsmen and Maya Jane Coles among their many influences.
The duo have been catching the attention of many blogs and labels with their track Mean To Me filled with neat chords and a striking bassline.
