Dwelling down deep, dark alleys, nestled in behind the drum machine and bass drivers we find Inner City Sumo in their 'Dangerous Neighbourhood'.

Formed out of a love of hard house and techno, the duo of Kev D & Simon Hill burst onto the scene at the beginning of 2021 with their debut release Look Back on Frantic Digital.

I heard the dub of Dangerous Neighbourhood a good 18 months ago and fell in love with it straight away, the sample, the pace, the space, the vibe....so i instantly snapped it up for release, its very different to the other music we have published so far; but this label is all about music i like, not being limited by conformity or pigeon holes.  

The tasty original comes backed with a hard/psy trance 'Space Bass' mix by yours truly.

Stampatron - First Principles - Electrom Remix

For this auspicious Winter Solstice release, I am pleased to be welcoming GavTech to the label. 

Having worked together on his 'Tell Me What You Hear' release for Diesel Recordings and my own 'Royal Dwarf' production, I've always been a fan of his intricate sound, thoughtful arrangement and dedicated work ethic, so am thrilled to be releasing this EP.

Home Turf is a garage breaks workout; a pacey, dark, evolving soundscape carved out via Gav's cerebral production values. 

On the flip side, I bring the noise with a thumping remix somewhere between bassline and fidget; I'll leave it for you to decide.

Home Turf EP

GavTech - Home Turf (Original Mix)

For the 10th Perennial release, I am thrilled to be bringing you lovely people a smorgasbord of electronic music from new & established PRN artists. What started out as an imprint to self-release my own esoteric electronica has grown into something much more, and it's an honour to publish this music from these fine artists in a long format. 

To start the album we have pure sunshine vibes in the shape of 'Jaspatron' an uplifting breaks track which is an ode to my late, great, dear dog Jasper; this music was written in the last few weeks of his life and hopefully captures the love & nostalgia that go with having such a close animal companion.
Upping the ante for the second track, Kev D brings another absolute roller with his Detroit Techno tune, Retrograde.
GavTech comes in third with his old-skool influenced 'Lost In Your Mind', full of feel-good synths and tight breakbeats.
Electrom is up next with Dope Dose, showcasing his trademark pounding beats and intricate electro sounds; this is then remixed by a new addition to the label, Awkward Squad, who brings a twisted, half-time brock-out to proceedings. 
At the halfway mark we have another new addition to the team, this time in the form of southwest duo Tumbian whose sunshine filled, Tycho-esque flex 'Together' is the perfect melodic house mid-point for proceedings. 
Next we are back to Gav who brings a psychedelics inspired piece of garage/breaks business 'We Are All One' before rolling to the awesome Electrom remix of Gav's seminal 'Home Turf'.
For the penultimate tune Kev is back with a Hawtin-esque rework of our first release 'Sublimate', dropping a deep techno shuffle that is pure goodness before i close the show with my 93' inspired remix of Retrograde.

To mark the Spring Equinox, I am thrilled to be presenting to you fine people a return to form for Perennial Recording Network. 
Its been a long time since our last release, with life getting slightly in the way of proceedings! 
Now in 2024 we are back with our next instalment of primordial electronic music...

Kev D 'Mitis Spiritus' sees Kev take a departure from his inimitable hard-groove techno sound to produce what i instantly described as 'the best piece of music he's ever written'.  Lush, organic synths dance with layered bass and intricate drum patterns to create a seminal production that oozes class and vibe. 
Sitting somewhere between Melodic House and Electronica, Mitis Spiritus does the business and is certainly one for fans of Bonobo, Tycho, Alex Banks, Bicep et al. 

On the flip side, I have been fortunate enough to be able to remix this beast (thanks Kev!) and bring to the table a deeper but harder edit. Pacey breakbeats underpin the organic sounds of the original, while sub-bass modulates behind stabby arps and dreamy delays. I was listening to a lot of Luke Chable and Shiloh at the time of writing, perhaps it shows!

Hot on the tail of our last release, I am proud to be brining forth the first of a few new tunes from myself for publication 013. 

Aptly titled, Zero Output is the first original release for a couple of years now and i must say, it's great to be back!

Zero Output started as a breakstep track but has mutated into something else; bouncy analogue bass sits over classic breakbeats before a switch-up with influences from DnB to garage which offers to satisfy both the dance floor divas and those with deep, dark desires 

On the flip side, Kev returns with another slamming remix; this time opting for serious half-time business, working on the darker elements of the original to create a brooding masterpiece utilising both samples from the prototype and those recorded in Kev's engineering workshop to create intricate rhythms.

Welcoming in the Spring ahead of the Vernal Equinox with another venture into mixtape territory. Chock-full of new & old tunes alike, this selection spans 110bpm to 135bpm and features the heavily anticipated roller from Kev D ‘Techno Basics’ as well as our new flex, Zero Output, the promos of which have been picking up spins on RinseFM and SWUFM as well as support from our man Electrom, over at Diesel Power \o/

Given the countless man-hours that go into production it's a shame there is a disposable nature to modern music, so alongside brand-new spankers i will always go back over the track collection when mixing to use older tunes that fit the key and tempo.  

This in turn brings back so much nostalgia from hundreds of hours spent over decades DJing in clubs and at raves, every tune rustling the memory banks and putting a smile on my face…..hopefully you can smile too.

For publication 014 i am happy to be welcoming Awkward Squad back to the label with some slow, sludgy breakbeats. 

Garnering influences from jackin' house to DnB to dub, this 115bpm roller sits perfectly both as a DJ tool and a standalone piece of music, as featured in our recent Vernal Vacation Mixtape

The track actually started life as a gap-filler for the aforementioned mix but has morphed into a full-blown single now that friends have commented that they like the slow but meaty nature of the music!

Awkward Squad - Jack's Dub [PRN014]

With the warmer weather making a welcome return, i am indeed extending a warm welcome myself to Tumbian as the duo come back to the label. 

Hyperbolic is a dreamy, breezy progressive breaks number with catchy hooks and driving b-lines. This will sound at home pumped across a sunny field just as it will beating through headphones curled up cosy on the sofa.  There's also a retro, almost nostalgic feel to proceedings, which harks back to shades of Orbital and other UK festival favourites.

On the flip side, I bring a more meaty, acid fuelled flex to proceedings. Incorporating many of the original drum and arppegiator samples while adding my own syncopated basslines and evolving vocal leads while keeping a similar pace.  I really enjoyed producing this remix, it was wicked, so I hope you can enjoy it too.

I am pleased to be welcoming Czech producer Electrom to the label for our 3rd release. 

Hailing from the suburbs of Prague, with a penchant for graffiti and breakbeat, Electrom has been in music for 20 years.

Fresh from his recent release on the Diesel Recordings 100 compilation, Electrom brings us a huge slice of Miami bass.

Electro synths swirl with syncopated drums to create a dirty, 130, dance-floor destroyer.

Complimenting the dark electro flavours of the original we have Kev D bringing us a robust, hard-groove techno remix, which is perfect for prime time!

For the 6th Perennial Recording Network release I welcome Czech producer Electrom back to the label.
'Need You Tonight' is an epic nu skool breaks flex perfect for late night dancefloors and other high energy activities.
Crisp electro drums roll behind arcade inspired sounds while sawtooth bass pulsates inside the old skool samples to create a very unique Electrom-esque soundscape.

On the flip side is my 120 dub which brings key elements of the original into a bass riddled house remix; 4/4 drums chug behind layered sub frequencies while samples from the original track permeate the void in between spacey arps and dubwise delays.
