This is such a cool track. Having only truly fallen in love with psytrance over the last couple years, it's always fun to hear older tracks from the artists I really dig because it's like getting new music with a totally different sound than I am used to! I feel like this time period (2005-2009 or so) was a golden age for progressive. I love this track!

Performing at Tanglewood has always been a dream, so this set holds a special place for me as I channeled classic afternoon Australian dancefloor steeze, whilst doing my best to honor the beautiful legacy of the late Steph Born, who blessed our community with this festival.

I’m beyond grateful to have spent this New Years with most of the people I love. During the beautiful tributes for Steph by her family on the 31st evening, I was reminded to honor, enrich, and nurture the special connections I'm lucky to share with so many, something I will make my number 1 priority in 2025.

Back to the music… expect mostly Digital Structures vibes—old, new, unreleased—with dnb, ukg and halftime thrown in for a laugh. Safe to say I had a fuckin ball throwin' down behind the wheels.

Big love to @nymph.divinity for their incredible performance during the set.

Ohhhh, and none of this would be a vibey time without you beautiful units on the dfloor, the most important piece of this puzzle 🙏

Out of all Perfectly Strange back catalog “Bliss” is, in my opinion the most under-rated track and one of the very best I made over the years. Its atmosphere & organic tribalism, plus the fact that it has an “anti-climax” break that does the job, added to an extremely old school groove, makes it so special to me. It was originally written in 2005 and released on a compilation I made for Iboga Records a year later called “Hibernation”. It sounded very outdated to me quite quickly because I changed my sound priorities to those with sub heavy frequencies – making a version that fits my needs as a DJ was just a matter of time ( a long time meh ). As the idea of making this project eventually became a reality and the concept was defined and clear, “Bliss” was one of the first ones to join the remake wagon.

Perfect Stranger is the stage name for California-based, Israeli electronic musician Yuli Fershtat. The Perfect Stranger project was created in February 2005 and within 2 years of its debut became critically acclaimed all over the globe. Perfect Stranger ultimately created his own sub-genre in the psychedelic scene by presenting a totally distinctive sound characterized by groovy playful beats and patiently built compositions that often bridge between progressive trance and techno with a presence of tribal and psychedelic elements.

Perfect Stranger has released 3 full artist albums, 3 remix albums, 3 compilations and appears on well over a hundred other releases (compilations, EPs, albums, etc.). He also owns & runs the “Digital Structures” label, where he publishes more tech-orientated sounds under the Yuli Fershtat moniker.
