Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. 

Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

Marc Spence and GAWP team up for their first collaborative EP titled "Trains" that's quickly chugging its way towards dancefloors this summer. Marc's recent releases touch bass with the likes of OWSLA, Medium Rare, House Mag, This Ain't Bristol and his own imprint, Box Of Cats, while GAWP, in addition to launching the successful new radio show GAWP Presents, has signed his brand of house music onto imprints like Get Twisted, DIRTYBIRD, Night shift, Cheap Thrills and of coarse, Perfect Driver. 

The EP is comprised of two tracks, the first of which, "Packin" delivers the funky forward thinking sound we love so much at PD. It's got just the right amount of groove to keep the floor moving. The second and darker of the two songs titled "Barkmore" takes us on an ever-rising, trippy adventure through sound design. With mentions of the windy city the artists pay homage to the home of house, Chicago. We love both of the tunes and we're sure you will too.

Today, Caroline Cecil, known to the world as WHIPPED CREAM, links up with NEST for an EP telling a story of self-awareness and untiring persistence.

The three-track PERSISTENCE EP sees her focus on refining the distinct hues of her production, with each track embodying a state of mind that either spurs her artistry, or holds her back. The A-side “IGNORANT” is unforgiving and angry, while the B-side “SELFISH” is nonchalant and eerie.

It's already that time of the year when we give things for free so I thought why not uploading this one remix I had kept for a while now. Ever since I've started producing I've loved creating groovy chops with vocals that already make you wanna dance, so giving this one a treat was lots of fun as it allowed me to mix elements from some of my favourite styles, such as tech house, jacking house and jersey club.

Chegou aquela época do ano em que a gente solta as coisas de graça então resolvi postar esse remix que tenho guardado comigo faz um tempo já. Como sempre gosto de fazer, tentei usar o vocal de jeitos diferentes,  dando uma misturada em caracteríticas do tech house, jacking house e jersey club, alguns dos gêneros que considero mais dançantes e que trazem o estilo do meu projeto e todo um novo ritmo pra track original. 

Espero que curtam e, se curtirem, não deixem de baixar de graça e compartilharem com quem vocês acharem que também vai curtir :)

No stranger to the Box of Cats family, this month we have Chick Iverson returning to home plate. This time bringing his all star batter Subset for a 3am friendly, two track EP set to make some noise as the ball hits a home run.

This is not a game of baseball, and to be honest I have never been to a baseball game, but the pure energy of 'Give Until it Hurts' is what I imagine dancing to when my home team wins. The flip 'Outta Here' is a return to what Chick knows best: a tech-y groove, sexy percussion and indescribable sound design.

When two legends from a legendary city like Seattle team up, we expect no less than what they delivered and we are very pleased to bring you their latest offering.

Here is dose of afternoon caffeine for all of you who can't wait to get out get your 4th of July weekend started. Coming out exclusively on OFDM Records and Beatport today "Dance Alarm" by Jaksan is earth shaker and sure to get you in the right mood to celebrate. The bass on this track is so massive and so well mixed it literally had my house shaking! It really ticks off all the boxes of a track that is going to get me out on the floor and moving. I can't wait to drop this on a proper system and watch people just start toppling over from all the bass vibrating through their bodies. The synth work on this track is also really great. There is just the right amount of alarm and it really blends in well with the groove and the bass. 

Based in LA Jaksan is someone we will be keeping a very close eye on. He recently had his track LaLaLa picked up by Dirtybird and his catalog of releases on other labels is pretty great. In addition to Dance Alarm the EP has one other original Lit & Dirty and there is also a remix of Dance Alarm from Cody Nu Skool.
