LaboratoryRats - Devil's Train

I wrote this just a little over three years ago, when i was reading about the World Worm Charming Championship of 2009. However, i adamantly wanted to record it with the guitar part i had in my head, and due to the fact that i neither own a guitar nor play the guitar, i was unable to. However, playing around with a borrowed guitar today I realized it was as simple as I'd hoped and managed to figure it out! Enjoy!

I tend to stay hidden, somewhere deep and somewhere dark
Beneath a layer of moss, amid the soft and rotting bark
But if you play a song for me I might just wriggle free
To somewhere on the surface, there for all the world to see

But I’d rather tunnel, I’d rather be within
The layers of decaying things that I’ll convert
I’ll make them soil, I’ll help new lives begin
They’ll never want for company within the dirt

Release me in your garden and I’ll help the flowers grow
You can love the greenery, I’ll love the roots below
You’ll find me in the compost heap you keep beside the shed

With vibrant shapes that seem to say “it’s good to be alive”

I stay alert as I wriggle in the dirt
