Perila is a St. Petersburg-born, Berlin-based sound and visual artist, DJ and performer who works to explore the sensitive borderlines and depths of subtle matter. Her music explores thick narratives with shifting moods and textures, allowing the listener to drift through a rich psychedelic sound palette. Perila’s passion for radio led her to curate and design Berlin Community Radio, where she hosted monthly for four years, and to co-found Russian online station radio.syg.ma which specializes in experimental soundscapes. In addition to showcasing her unique ventures through ambient music, her show has also welcomed the likes of Andrew Pekler, Dynamo Dreesen, and Tomoko Sauvage. Perila also curates an online community WET (Weird Erotic Tension), which explores ideas of sonic sexuality in mixing spoken word, poetry, ASMR and field recordings. Since 2020 Perila has been involved with the musical projects Aseptic Stir, LOG, and Critical Amnesia.

Detox № 43 - Stas Karpenkov

GRAPHICAL RECORDINGS and Muscut have teamed up to co-publish Nikolaienko's "The Sounds of Pseudoscience" (12", LP). Nikolaienko's upcoming full length is a playful and intriguing archive of sounds influenced by the works of electronic music pioneers and experimenters. The album acts as a tribute to early-electronics' golden era, playing out as a requiem, pondering the theme of nostalgia through warm analogue, space-aged sounds. For the artist, it’s an odd and ironically funny sound document, which he hopes declares some other way that electronic music can be today. Watch for it this June.

The Sounds Of Pseudoscience Organised By Nikolaienko (12", 2015) Excerpts

This is a compilation of the music which has carried me through my first few years of parenthood. These songs have brought calmness, given me the space to zone out, lulled my children to sleep, lulled me to sleep. Listening back to these sounds, they conjure up the image of sunshine creeping through our kitchen windows as the sun rises to start a new day with a newborn just falling back to sleep after needing comfort in the dark of night. The mix is accompanied by a conversation at the dinner table where our (at the time of recording) three year old is telling us of a dream he had the night before.
