Vio has spent the last 10 years roaming the full spectrum of the music industry, from her early days as an event organizer and journalist in her native Bucharest to the front lines of the Berlin scene as a DJ, radio host, writer and DJ tutor. Her Flight Mode show on Refuge Worldwide radio is a passionate crate dig, always on the lookout for weird and wonderful balearic, disco and afrobeat. A 90's kid, she brings that nostalgia into her sets, playing old school house and techno paired with fresh releases from leftfield labels and classics alike.

"Prague-born, London based Ariane V is a selector on the rise. Cutting her teeth with a stint behind the counter at Soho’s legendary Phonica Records, she quickly developed a taste for a broad range of dance music, building an enviable record collection in the process.

Initially rooted in house & disco, Ariane V’s exquisite selections frequently drift through the dreamlike and euphoric to the broken beat and acid pumpers. She’s a regular at many of London's best venues, either getting people dancing at the likes of Corsica Studios and the Cause, or digging deep at audiophile spaces such as Brilliant Corners. An experienced radio host, she has appeared on multiple radio stations in the UK and abroad in addition to her regular monthly show on Peckham’s Balamii Radio."

Excited to be finally sharing a live recording of @arianev from the most recent @Optick_dance party with our @Visceramusic compadres. Going strength to strength in London's music scene, this mix is an example of what Ariane V does best, connecting the dots between balaeric cuts, glistening house, chug and italo. Her Balamii residency has seen guest appearances from the likes of Secretsundaze, Moxie and Hardway Bros (Sean Johnson). Her growing reputation as a broadcaster and DJ has gained international attention, recently warming up for Berghain resident Roi Perez at @PlanetGroove, Belgium. 

Here's a few words from Ariane V herself ...

"Sometimes you play a set and wish it had been recorded, and this was one of those times - but it actually *was* recorded. I've never released a recording of a live set before, and I'm so glad this gets to be the first. The Viscera/Paradia guys who played before me on the night played a great opening set ending around 100 bpm, which gave me all the freedom to do whatever I wanted with my slot. Going from chug, to balearic, to acid, slowly bringing it up to house tempos. Exactly the kind of set I love playing. A definite highlight for me was a group of guys shazaming Gazza's Fog on the Tyne. Thank you for having me and for recording the set and putting it out there for everyone to hear ❤️''
