Whilst quality over quantity usually reigns supreme, at the end of the day, what's wrong with doing both? Putting out ten records in the space of one year in 2011, Deep Space Orchestra found themselves in the fortunate position of sitting on a large amount of built up unreleased music, with a variety of label owners wanting to release it. The result; their eventual break out and a discography of beautifully produced house music spanning labels such as Delusions Of Grandeur, Quintessentials and Fly By Night Music. If you want to dip back through their catalogue we highly recommend checking out tracks such as Sir Shina and Lo Pan as a little starting point.

In the last three years, we know for sure they've been working on at least two things. One – putting out music from an array of fellow producers on their own label, Use Of Weapons – and two – working on their debut LP for said label. Entitled Memory, they've described the album as being their most complete project to date and largely being born from a collection of gear they bought with a view to start playing live. The full album release date comes towards the end of September but in the meantime they're dropping a 12" sampler on the 7th as a little taster. Featuring two tracks from the LP, the sampler also comes backed with two wonderfully picked remixes from Neville Watson and Lord Of The Isles, the latter we're able to exclusively premiere on Truants today. Prepare yourself for a long melodic breakdown.

Premiere: Deep Space Orchestra - Let's Save (Lord Of The Isles Remix)

A month after joining proceedings at our launch party for Sub Club's Nautilus Rising label, Lord of the Isles marks his return on Permanent Vacation with his Clearness of Love EP – a heedless release of four tracks that are easy picks for peaktime on the dancefloor. Club-orientated techno that still remains gentle, heavily steeped in nostalgia: from acid to ambient; and big beat to Balearic. Though perhaps not a blatant choice, the EP's closer "All I Need" is an undeniable highlight – slow-burning, earthly techno with a melody flowing through the bassline that grounds and comforts you all at once. The almost folkloric snippets of the wood flute keeps it reminiscent of Bavarian soundscapes in Recondite's Iffy.

Clearness of Love EP drops on 23rd October via Permanent Vacation.

Lord of the Isles "All I Need" - Boiler Room Debuts

Lord of the Isles is our guest in Hour 2 and the Scottish producer has racked up a string of releases across labels like Phonica, Shevchenko, Permanent Vacation and Japanese label Mule Musiq, on which he has a track featured on their forthcoming compilation. He had this to say about his mix;
"This mix was recorded at home with some records from artists and labels that i’ve been enjoying lately. An unreleased LOTI track that i’ve playing out recently has also sneaked its way in there. Listening back I can tell I’m longing for Summer already. Sounds like memories of a Summer gone by. Thanks for having me hope you enjoy. Nx"

Iron Curtis will release his second solo album later this month and we're premiering this especially deep and moody cut that instantly caught our ears on a first listen. Boorang is taken from “Upstream Color” and will come out via Ripperton’s Tamed Musiq imprint.

The album definitely lives up to its name. A vibrant, 12-track collection of mesmerising house threaded together by lush, beatless vignettes, it’s the producer’s most cohesive work to date and is replete with special moments and nourishing sounds.
