Gracing the musical pages of Toolroom once again is studio wizard James Hurr, Per QX & Elias Bravo with ‘Get Up’. Signing off 2021 by collaborating with Toolroom’s head honcho Mark Knight on his Bullets EP series with ‘Movin’, James Hurr ups the ante and takes on Per QX and Elias Bravo with a huge collab destined to get clubs shufflin’ and crowds moving until the early hours. James Hurr himself has had a rock solid 2021, with stand out releases on Toolroom, Toolroom Trax and Love & Other, James is keeping up the same energy he’s be pushing out for the past year.

On the collab this time is Per QX & Elias Bravo, Swedish natives who have an apt taste for what makes a banging House record. A pair of studio maestros who have appeared on Size Records and Simma Black with their slick and seductive house sounds.

Landing hot on Toolroom is ‘Get Up’, a Piano House weapon loaded with enough heat to light up dance floors around the world! Featuring Funk inspired vocal samples throughout with a chunky bass line keeping up the energy, ‘Get Up’ is a record tjhat just oozes class and the results as you’d imagine, are dynamite. Obviously - given the title and GU's history - you're thinking its a cover of the "Frozen" classic done in an epic man-Trance style. But strangely, no. For this one Per goes deep with a beautiful looping vocal house cut. Whodathunkit?! And if you're looking for a style guide in the crazy Robin Schulz -> Innervisions world that is Deep House 2016, this one sits perfectly alongside the new records from Mat.Joe on Toolroom and Serge Devant on Crosstown Rebels.

Remixes come from tech-house don Jaceo (who delivers his usual irresistible bouncy groove) and - my own fave - Glasgow's own Illyus & Barrientos who take Per's original on a tough 2am-in-the-Sub-Club style body-jacker.

London-based Soul Bombs steps up for the second release on Per QX's new label, Walk Of Shame Records with euphoric diva-infused disco cut 'Need Someone', released on 18 December, which is backed by a Per QX Remix.

With 'Need Someone' Soul Bombs delivers a brilliantly uplifting and positive track which perfectly captures wide-eyed innocence of early house and disco.

On 'Need Someone', Soul Bombs said: 'It's about connection. I think if 2020 has shown us anything, it's the importance of people in your life and the community we're part of. We will dance again, and I wanted some music to help us think of that time when we're next on the dance floor.'

World...let's talk about love, peace...with music...

Stockholm native Per QX continues to be at the cutting edge of an ever evolving global underground house music scene. Currently based in Bali, and also regularly in his previously adopted London hometown, Per has played his signature bouncing DJ sets in over 30 cities across the globe from San Francisco to Singapore. These include slots at Berlin’s Tresor, Barcelona’s Razzmatazz, and festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival and Lovebox. 

His productions have attracted fierce attention, including a global premiere on Pete Tong’s radio 1 show for his tracks ‘Ready 4 This’ (with Paramour) and his solo single “Let it Go” on Glasgow Underground. 
It’s not the first time Per has graced those hallowed decks either, with a play in the BBC Essential Mix, and Steve Angello playing the exclusive of ‘Save Us’ (with Zoo Brazil) when standing in for Tong on a previous show. Save Us was released on Size records and has been played 290 000 times on soundcloud. 

Kevin Saunderson remixed his and Zoo Brazil’s follow up track “Give it up” on Noir music last year, and Per collaborated with Dantiez Saunderson on a Great Stuff recordings EP in 2015 which featured highly in the traxsource chart.

In March last year the book “DJ-Liv/DJ Life” was released in which he is featured as playing an important part in Swedish night life history.

Per is the co-founder of the outrageous international dance party GutterSlut. From its beginnings in an East End strip joint, to its cult status in locations across London, Berlin and Stockholm, the club night became a favourite for city locals, hosting guest slots from the likes of Felix Da Housecat, DJ Hell and Tiga. 

Per has released on celebrated labels like Strictly Rhythm, Size, Noir Music, Glasgow underground, Great Stuff, and Southern Fried Records to name a few. He has seen his compositions used for a variety of projects in film and TV, including adverts for Adidas, BBC Radio 1, Pioneer and BBC TV.

His productions regularly receive DJ support from some of the biggest names in the business, including Hot Since 82, Skream, Mark Knight, Danny Tenaglia, DJ T, Mat.Joe, Camelphat, Tough Love, Roger Sanchez and Prok & Fitch.
