there you go for the second appearance of MERCÚRIO RETRÓGRADO, the duo from yours truly and @astralles! this time with a 8-hour-long long set! (and my bad, i only remembered recording some good minutes after we started)... this is a pretty much all brazilian edits and remixes set, but we eventually ventured into the more electronic side of things and made a quick detour into those lands of indie dance, house, slow techno, downtempo and et cetera. this one was for the Armengue Véio night at the Véio Cafuzo Bar in Bixiga, São Paulo and we just had the greatest time and hope you too have a lot of fun as we did! go check out @astralles amazing work in here: soundcloud.com/astralles and don't forget to follow!

ZZK Records Presents Karen y Los Remedios “Las Muchachas - Mexican Institute of Sound Remix”

After being mentioned by Grammy.com as one of the 5 Artists Leading A New Wave Of Latin Trip-Hop & Downtempo and being featured as one of the best albums in 2023 on Bandcamp, Karen y Los Remedios releases “Silencio Remixes” album. 

Las Muchachas - Mexican Institute of Sound Remix is the first single from the album "Silencio Remixes" by Karen y Los Remedios. 

Karen y Los Remedios, the Mexican band known for their unique blend of cumbia and downtempo music, brings an album of remixes. The group is fronted by Ana Karen Barajas, who is both a singer-songwriter, along with Jiony, a producer based in Mexico City, and guitarist Guillermo Berbeyer. Together, they create a distinctive sound that incorporates elements of cumbia, trip-hop, and subtle electronic details.

Their debut album, Silencio, was released to critical acclaim on September 8, 2023.  Now, they have collaborated with other artists for this remix album. For this remix release of ‘Silencio’, the debut album by Karen y Los Remedios, a group of artists from different nationalities and various musical genres came together.

Mexican Institute of Sound (Instituto Mexicano del Sonido — IMS) is an electronic music project created by Mexico City-based DJ and producer Camilo Lara.  This version by Camilo emphasizes the cumbia sound system percussion but also adds sections that transition into an electronic hip-hop vibe, very much in the style of his Mexican Institute of Sound project.
