Shakara Carter 
Shakara is an actress in training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, due to graduate in September 2021. Her first solo work - Triptych - recently launched on RCS@Home is a darkly comedic nod to the often-unfathomable forces at play within and around us, and the irreconcilable truth of what makes us flawed and lovable in equal measure. As an actress Shakara has worked with The Arcola, Manchester Royal Exchange, Freedom Studios, SlungLowShorts and Camden People's Theatre and the award-winning Knaive theatre. As a puppeteer she has worked with Nickelodeon, The Little Angel Theatre, Folded Feather and DNA Puppetry. Her international collaboration The Panda Project is currently underway thanks to Arts Council funding and she is due to play Antigone in a modern retelling of the Greek Classic in October 2021.

This week Elaine chats with the inspirational Valerie Edmond. 
We cover so much in today’s episode. Everything from the outdated views on the physical appearance of actresses, to knowing your worth in an industry that doesn’t always encourage you to value your own time and effort to embracing and loving where you come from. As well as the importance of being an artist and remembering to always say exactly what you are. 
An uplifting, inspiring beautiful episode from a immensely talented, gifted and giving human. 

VALERIE EDMOND
Valerie is an award-winning actress who began her life in a single end tenement in Springburn, Glasgow before moving to a council estate in Balornock - built in the shadow of The Red Road Flats. To escape break time bullying at her secondary school an English teacher gave Valerie the keys to a long forgotten drama studio and there, using a torch to see, she stepped from darkness into the technicolour world of William Shakespeare, Robert Burns, Christina Rosetti and Edwin Morgan. Valerie became the youngest person to ever attend the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Conservatoire) set up her own theatre company on leaving, and has gone on to work with Stephen Frears, Gavin Millar, Vadim Jean, Daniel Craig, Greta Scacchi, David Harewood Peter Capaldi and Brian Cox amongst others, winning nominations and awards for her performances on film and television. She also uses her voice - currently narrating a series of award-winning campaigns promoting health throughout Scotland for the Scottish Government, the BBC and remains a key worker throughout COVID-19 for services to broadcasting. In 2020, when Covid prevented the Scottish Legion/Poppy Scotland from collecting funds, Valerie approached the barracks of Edinburgh Castle and the Scottish War Memorial Monument and read the battalion names of those who died for Scotland in WW2 as the sun came up. Remembrance Sunday
Like Elaine, Valerie Edmond is a founder member of the Class Network for Equity, a curator of the ‘Who’s Afraid of the Working Class” event at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, an award-winning actor, producer, and author currently writing, Working Class Heroes in the Performing Arts - A Handbook. She has appeared in Outlander, Succession and Lessons of the Hour- Fredrick Douglass - a ten screen immersive film installation by artist Isaac Julien currently showing around the world and last month on the giant Piccadilly Circus screens in central London.
Still raising her children, Valerie returns to an industry mired in controversy and has switched on her torch once more, campaigning for ERA, speaking in Parliament on behalf of Equity, The Musician’s Union and the Writer’s Guild to support working class portrayal, content and representation across all platforms in the arts finding ways to shine a light for those who would otherwise stay in the dark.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022 series 

Louise and Elaine chat Ania Upstill over Zoom. A clown bringing their show Transhumance to the Festival for the first time. We chat moving from directing to clowning and the gender binary.


Transhumance
Take a surreal journey through the landscape of gender with Transhumance, winner of a Best Weekly Award for Circus and Physical Theatre at Adelaide Fringe in 2020. Award-winning clown Ania Upstill playfully explores what it means to be a trans human—or any human—in a society where the gender binary often blocks us from the richness of human experience. 
Join Ania Upstill (they/them), a NYC-based theatre and circus artist for a heartfelt, physical exploration of gender norms. As a genderqueer and queer performer, the American Kiwi Upstill is excited to bring Transhumance to the largest theatre festival in the world. “I think of Edinburgh as the great art hub of humanity,” says Upstill, “and I know we will find an audience that needs, wants, and will enjoy this journey.”
For Upstill, clowning brings buoyancy, joy and fun into the heated conversations around trans and nonbinary identities. ‘I think often we only hear about how difficult it is to be part of a gender minority, for instance having to explain your pronouns all the time. And yes, it is hard,’ says Upstill, ‘but it is also beautiful and exciting to be able to play with all the performative aspects of gender and find what feels right to you.’ 
Transhumance comes to the Fringe laden with praise from America and New Zealand: 'A work of joy and playfulness – whimsical, witty and replete with wonder' (TheatreView.org.nz). 'Manages to be both a deeply personal story of self-identification and a universal experience of gender paradigms' (TheatreScenes.co.nz).
Ania Upstill started identifying as genderqueer and using they/them pronouns in 2018. ‘I started seeing more and more content about non-binary identities online. I remember I started to sob uncontrollably because I realized, ‘oh, that’s me too’. I think we often overlook how a binary concept of gender isn’t really fun for anyone, including people who identify as cisgender.’ 
The title of the show, Transhumance, happens to also be an agricultural term meaning to move sheep – or other livestock – across a landscape in a migratory pattern. For Upstill, this reflects how gender is both a limitless landscape and an intriguing place to explore. Thinkery & Verse co-artistic director JM Meyer also observes that ‘the multiple meanings of transhumance also demonstrate both the jolly usefulness of prefix ‘trans,’ and the pleasure of slant rhyming with ‘romance.’

Today Elaine and Louise chat actor and intersectional feminist, the legend that is Kate Dickie. This is an absolute joy of an episode we cover so much. Kate shares stories from her films, her thoughts on the craft and so much more. Kate is a Scottish actor who trained at what is now known as Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. After this Kate worked mainly in theatre with such ground-breaking companies as Theatre Crypt, Suspect Culture and Raindog. In 2006 Kate stared in the award-winning film Red Road which moved her career into more Film and TV. Kate has starred in over 92 films and TV series. OUTLINE:
CAIT travels to a call-back audition for a film. It’s been a while since an opportunity like this one. In the audition room, she gets on brilliantly with SUZANNE (the casting director) and REBECCA (the writer/director), receiving good vibes and positive feedback on her previous reading. It’s a genuinely exciting project. Cait really wants this one. Suzanne announces that they’ve already cast the male lead, and he’s going to be reading with her today. Before they can reveal who it is, he enters - DANNY - hotshot pretty-boy actor, loved by everyone. Everyone except Cait. She hasn’t forgotten her last encounter with Danny, and what she’s been living with ever since.
Unlike everyone else in the room, she sees the predator behind the mask. When they read the scene together, Caits’ fight or flight instinct is triggered. Her trauma tells her to run, but her strength and the opportunity to go off script allows her to fight. With a rage-filled roar of catharsis, the real Danny is exposed, and Cait begins her journey towards healing.

Alison Cleland 
Ali Cleland is a rural Ayrshire lass and started her musical career early on in the trad Scottish folk scene. At the age of 18 she headlined the ‘Festival Internacional de la Sierra” in Spain and performed as a soloist for the Commonwealth Games handover ceremony in Glasgow 2014. Her acting career has seen her star in shows such as Legally Blonde The Musical and she was both Musical Director & Played 'Woman 4’ in Girls Night Oot, Scottish Tour.  She’s been involved in development pieces for the National Theatre of Scotland, the Royal Court, London and the Tron Theatre, Glasgow to name a few. Ali also teaches Musical theatre at New College Lanarkshire and is extremely passionate about teaching the next generation of performers. Ali is a well known face in the Scottish Pantomime Scene. She and Fraser Boyle met whilst working at the Palace Theatre, Kilmarnock in 2018, where they first decided to write something together. Hen Night Horror is the result!

SELL ME follows 15-year-old Jisun, a North Korean girl who decides to sell herself to an old Chinese man to make money for her mother’s medication. Inspired by the journeys of many North Korean women defectors, SELL ME portrays the everyday lives and impossible choices made by those living in North Korea, too often overlooked and distorted by Western media.

Sora Baek
Sora Baek is an award winning actor, playwright, and producer from South Korea. She has been featured on the Korea Times, News 12 NJ, and Voice of America. Select acting theatre credits include: SELL ME: I am from North Korea (the US Capitol Center), The Storm, A Christmas Carol, and Sworn Virgin (NYC and International Tour) with Blessed Unrest and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Calaveras Repertory Theatre). She received a Best Actress Award at the Epidemic Film Festival in San Francisco. Sora has been working with Only Make Believe which brings interactive theatre to children with disabilities over 15 years.

*Sora’s grandparents fled the North during the Korean war with her father when he was only four years old. She grew up in a small South Korean town across the river from North Korea, looking out at the empty ghost buildings. Sora’s writing and research into the lives of North Korean defectors were born out of her family’s inability to return home, the pain caused to many innocent families by the war that divided the two countries, and the pain many have since continued to live through. She presents this performance for her father, her grandfather, and all those who cannot go home.

ALOK is an internationally acclaimed poet, comedian, public speaker, and actor. Women have long been locked up, medicated, pathologized and silenced by a simple label - ‘crazy’. BATSHIT is a wildly theatrical, unexpectedly funny, and deeply intimate story of female madness. Created by psycho-siren Leah Shelton (AU) and directed by Olivier award-winning performance artist Ursula Martinez (UK), this is a requiem for Leah’s grandmother Gwen, who was incarcerated for seeking independence in 1960s Australia. BATSHIT draws on personal stories, pop psychology and Prozac-laden humour to explore the myths, fantasies and fears that keep us compliant, and the systems that let us down. Dedicated to all the women labelled hysterical, psycho, hormonal and deluded by a society that seeks to control and discredit their experiences.
LEAH SHELTON
Psycho-siren Leah Shelton creates stylized, guttural, renegade feminist work soaked in cult references and dark humour. Her work has taken her from the glamour of Las Vegas to the back streets of Kings Cross, from rigorous training in Japan to live art festivals in New York. As a solo artist, Leah has played on and off West End in London. She has graced the cabaret stages of La Clique, Club Briefs, Little Death Club, Vegas Nocturne and Jonny Woo’s infamous UnRoyal Variety Show. Her first solo work, ‘Terror Australis’, received numerous awards and toured Australia and France. Leah’s second solo work, ‘Bitch On Heat’, directed by UK Performance Art luminary Ursula Martinez, has toured to major festivals in Australia and Soho Theatre London to critical acclaim and standing ovations.With Lisa Fa’alafi, Leah is Co-Director of artist collective Polytoxic, creating hyper-visual works underpinned by diversity and collaboration. Harry Mould 

Harry (they/she) is a queer, mixed-heritage writer, artist, wellbeing facilitator, and EDI consultant. 
Their critically acclaimed first play, The Brenda Line, was commissioned by Pitlochry Festival Theatre for their 2024/25 season, and their first script for television, The Houdini Detectives, was a finalist in the Studio 21 Drama Series Prize, and has since been optioned for television. Their debut novel, Saturn Devours His Daughter, was a finalist in both the Merky New Writers Book Prize and Peters Fraser Dunlop Queer Literary Prize in 2023/24.
Harry is Associate Artist with Sanctuary Queer Arts in Glasgow and is on the board of directors for Summerhall Arts and Wonder Fools theatre company. They like good horror books, bad horror films, and think your dad should be in therapy, already.

Charlotte Smith
Charlotte Smith is an Edinburgh-based playwright. She studied Drama Writing at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and her work has been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, Òran Mór, the Scottish Youth Theatre, the CCA, the Golden Goose Theatre and the Camden Irish Centre. She was longlisted for the David MacLennan Award at Òran Mór in 2022 and 2024, and shortlisted for WonderFools' Positive Stories for Negative Times 2024 programme. Charlotte's play The Sculptor is currently being performed by Not So Nice! Theatre at the Edinburgh Horror Festival. Her work is sometimes surreal, often supernatural, and always queer.

Ellie co-wrote (with Richard Baron) Nan Shepherd: Naked & Unashamed in association with Dr Kerri Andrews which returns to Pitlochry Festival Theatre Studio for their Summer Season 30th May-14th June 2025.  
Recent TV/Radio credits include: appearances in BBC Alba Sar Sgeoil: Dracula (broadcast Halloween 2024) and BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour.  
Theatre credits include: White Rabbit, Red Rabbit by Nassim Soleimanpour,  Anthony in Anthony & Cleopatra with Shake-Scene Shakespeare’s at Shakespeare North Playhouse and an Autumn tour of one woman show A Room of One’s Own by Virgina Woolf this November 2024.  
Writing credits: Founder of Page to Stage (Scottish Borders) and the Create project which focused on supporting and launching new female voices into the industry.  Ellie was a Burn Bright Timebank mentor and The School of Life’s Expert on Acting.

“Virginia Gay graduated WAAPA, then spent four years pretending to be a nurse on All Saints, six months pretending to be cop on Savage River (ABC), and then five years on Winners & Losers, where she pretended to know a lot about high finance. That last one, particularly, was a stretch. She won a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Actress for Calamity Jane, starred in the film Judy & Punch which premiered at Sundance, and wrote and directed her first short film Paper Cut, which made Tropfest finals. In 2020 she wrote two new plays: an adaptation of Cyrano for MTC and The Boomkak Panto for
Belvoir, which premiered December 2021. She starred in both and also co-directed The Boomkak Panto.”

Where We Stop 
Is this your stop pal?’ Sophie gets the bus every day. Same seats, same route. With pals, on her own, from work, to college- She never misses her stop. After getting into her first relationship with Jack, who joins her on the bus, she could stay on with him all day. Sophie’s journeys are filled with love, banter and friendship as we see glimpses into the everyday life of a young woman in Glasgow. However, as we catch more and more glances into Sophie’s life, something doesn’t feel right. We begin to see the signs of a relationship that has become abusive- and a bus that seems impossible to get off. ‘Where we stop’ is a film that subtly highlights forms of violence against women and girls and the often-overlooked early signs of domestic abuse. Born from a lack of media that specifically centres young women’s experience of domestic abuse, this film aims to challenge the misconception that the issue primarily affect older women. Created in collaboration with young women across Glasgow, and inspired by the writer's own experiences, it is a film created to open eyes and start conversations.
Molly Geddes 
Molly Geddes is an actor, writer and Graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is also the writer of new short social impact film ‘Where We Stop’, a piece of work that aims to engage young women on the topic of Violence Against Women and Girls. As a young woman, Molly experienced intimate relationship abuse firsthand and knows how isolating navigating an experience like this can be. Molly’s main interest for creating this film was the lack of media around intimate relationship abuse, that specifically centred young women. She felt there was little to no media around this topic that resonated with her, and so she thought it was important to create something that can help other young women in the situation she found herself in. Using her own experiences and research from focus groups Molly created ‘Where we stop’. This is her first time writing for screen, having previously only written for theatre. Molly is buzzing to be part of this project especially with the unwavering support of the Glasgow Girls Club, a group she has been a part of since she was 14 years old. This is a massive full circle moment for Molly, both personally and professionally, and to see the impact this process has already had on young women is magic.

Knockengorroch Festivals were born from a love of the land, excellent roots music and celebrating the good times.
We present unparalleled music, arts and workshops in a beautiful mountain riverside meadow.

Katch Holmes 
Katch is a Creative Producer.   She conceives of, synthesise and deliver international cultural activity, having worked in the sector for over 20 years. She programmes and steers the Knockengorroch music festival which takes place in the Southern Uplands of South West Scotland.  Katch produces further creative projects that highlight people, landscape and heritage.  For more details you can browse the projects page.She presents and represents exceptional music through my agency Off Site Productions.  As a professional coach (Relational Dynamics ILM Level 7) she coach creatives to help achieve their goals. Katch is a director on the board of the Scottish Music Industry Association. She is a Clore fellow, having taken part in the Clore Cultural Leadership programme in 2012/13. Enjoys being a mum of a small human and a small dog.

Episode 251: Katch Holmes  and Knockengorroch Festival

Elaine chats with co-founder of F-Bomb Theatre co Rachel O’Regan about their latest project Monumental which is a walking tour of the imagined statues of five women from history and their connection to Edinburgh. We also chat with two of the writers Hannah Low, Emery Schaffer and the director Emily Ingram. 
F-Bomb are working with Edinburgh 900 celebrations to brig Monumental to the audiences. In a city that has more statues to animals than to women join these incredible writers as they celebrate these inspirational women.

MONUMENTAL 
Edinburgh has nearly 200 monuments and statues dotted around the city, showcasing key historical figures in the city’s history - but where are all the women?
Part of the Edinburgh 900 celebrations, Monumental is a new extraordinary theatrical walking tour that showcases the real ‘herstory’ of Edinburgh. Produced by multi-award-winning Edinburgh-based feminist theatre company F-Bomb Theatre, the experience will take audiences around the city to explore the lives of five women who deeply impacted, lived, and worked in Edinburgh. 
The project was conceived by playwright and producer Rachel O’Regan after reading Sara Sheridan’s book Where Are The Women?; O’Regan learned that the city has more statues of animals than of named women, and began asking herself: ‘Where are the monuments to our real-life heroines?’. 
Taking on historical figures in the show range from Clara Marguerite Christian, the first black woman to study at the University of Edinburgh, to Scotland’s youngest suffragette, Bessie Watson. Their stories will be interpreted by five early-career female playwrights based in Edinburgh, including Rachel O’Regan, playwright, dramaturg, and producer, 
Hannah Low, Jaïrus Obayomi, Kirin Saeed and Emery Schaffer. 

A brave recentring of women across time, Monumental highlights not only the accomplishments of women in Edinburgh over the past 900 years - but also gives a new platform to the emerging talent of the future.
Monumental will take place throughout May 2025 across the City of Edinburgh as part of the Edinburgh 900 celebrations commissioned by Edinburgh City Council. F-Bomb Theatre is currently holding a raffle for pay-what-you-can tickets on their website - fbombtheatre.co.uk/monumental

Soon, Lauren can no longer comprehend her own decisions and desires (like why she asked Luke to narrate for her in the first place). Red Like Fruit interrogates the many contradictions and complexities of complicity, consent, patriarchy and traumatic memory in the post #MeToo era.

Lunchbox 
Set in a secondary school in Glasgow, this powerful solo show delves into the dynamic between two teenagers who live on the same street but experience the world very differently. Taking on all the roles including the juxtaposition of Steven, a troubled Scottish boy, and Lubna, a Pakistani girl – Kerr examines the impact of bullying through the eyes of these two young people as directly influenced by their environments and upbringing. On a quest to find her true passion, Kerr seeks refuge from the challenges of adolescence in her lunchtime drama club, whilst Steven seems destined for a life as a perpetrator. This compelling and timely piece confronts the age-old question of nature versus nurture, asking whether our paths are defined by where we come from or whether we can rewrite our own
stories.

Alright Sunshine 

Alright Sunshine, is a razor-sharp monologue dissecting women’s safety and police prejudice set in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. Written by Edinburgh-based playwright, Isla Cowan. Alright Sunshine is a unique female-led and female-focussed punchy, provocative thriller that explores how safe women are in public and private spaces, mob mentality and the ‘real’ Edinburgh that tourists don’t get to see. A one-hander set in The Meadows on a hot day in May, the play follows PC Nicky McCreadie responding to a mass brawl, where she comes face-to-face with a past she’d rather forget. As the audiences relive the events of the brawl and Nicky’s background, her mask of masculine bravado that she needs to survive starts to slip, and we get a glimpse into her own insecurities and secret motivations. Writer Isla Cowan said: “Alright Sunshine is about the rules and rhythms of a city and what happens when the sun comes out. It explores issues of gender and class, mob mentality, women’s safety, and the politics of public space. It’s a female-led and female-focused political play, with a distinctive Edinburgh spin” Both entertaining and acutely topical, Alright Sunshine draws on popular themes of power and revenge and uses comedic social commentary to highlight the important themes of misogyny and prejudice in the police.

Kathryn Gordon, Shetland Choreographer and Performer Kathryn Gordon will bring the beautiful Dance Base a taste of the islands this Edinburgh Festival Fringe as she introduces her sublime new work A JOURNEY OF FLIGHT. An immersive fifty-minute dance performance created in Shetland and inspired by the migration of birds. The work includes Gordon’s signature element of engaging environmental awareness, inviting audiences to reflect on the delicate balance between nature, movement and our emotional ties to place. Featuring mesmerising choreography and live music from Jenny Sturgeon along side stunning projected visuals, A JOURNEY OF FLIGHT creates a thought-provoking journey of arrivals, departures, the nostalgia of place and the notion of flight itself. Set against a backdrop of flowing white sheets, dancers Kathryn Gordon and Jorja Follina move through ever changing spaces, exploring new states of being and new homes. Two-time Fringe First Award-winning and Total Theatre Award nominated writer and performer Emma Frankland brings her raucous and powerful new show No Apologies to Summerhall for its Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut. Directed by critically acclaimed performance artist and Total Theatre Award nominated theatre maker, Harry Clayton-Wright, No Apologies is a theatrical exploration into the possibility of what the world would look like if Kurt Cobain was trans. 
Delving deep into internet discourse and classical mythology, No Apologies radically mis-remembers Nirvana’s iconic 1993 MTV Unplugged concert. Straddling the knife edge of funny and gut-punching, this personal and multi-layered piece, fights back against the pressure to mould ourselves into images that are acceptable to society and the danger that lies when we are not able to live as our full, vibrant selves. 
While performed throughout most of the Fringe as a sixty minute solo show, two dates at the end of the festival on 21st and 23rd August will integrate a five-piece tribute band for two special live gig performances in Summerhall’s prestigious Dissection Room space.

Emma Ruse 

Emma is a theatre producer and director based in Musselburgh, Scotland. As well as running Emma Ruse Productions, they are co-founder and Chief Executive of Framework Theatre Company, where they provide bespoke support to emerging artists across Scotland.  Emma Ruse Productions aims to produce new theatre within Scotland and beyond, with a focus on accessibility, transparency and fair working conditions. There is a focus on stories that are told through a feminist or queer lens, and on work that supports underrepresented voices. Emma directs some of this work themself, and produces the work of others.

ABOUT NELLY KELLY
Nelly Kelly is a trans non-binary playwright, performer and dramaturg.

They perform in drag, most as Queeresa Gay and are 1/3 of the drag trio Haus of Gay. They are a recipient of the new playwrights’ award with Playwrights Studio Scotland and are currently writing a piece for Scenes of Survival with NTS and the BBC. At every available opportunity they love to work with Queen Jesus productions who are currently co-producing their scene for survival as well as producing their new play 'Waiting for God...oh".

They are happiest when making intersectional trans & queer work catered to trans and queer audiences.

In today’s episode Elaine and Misha chat with Intimacy Co-ordinator, Intimacy Director and Fight Choreographer Lizzy Talbot. This is a vital, important and informative episode about the way our industry is changing and how you should be expected to be treated and protected. Lizzy is lovely and one of the most calming influences we have be around in months. We are sure you will all feel encouraged and relaxed at the end of today’s episode

LIZZY TALBOT
Lizzy Talbot is the founder and Director of Intimacy for Stage and Screen (formally IDI-UK) - one of the first companies in the UK advocating for safe intimacy for the stage and screen. She has worked internationally across the UK, EU and the USA. Lizzy is also certified with Intimacy Director and Coordinator Professionals in the USA. Lizzy is one of the lead instructors in Intimacy Coordination and works professionally as an Intimacy Coordinator across various networks including HBO, Netflix, Starz, Britbox and others. Her Intimacy Coordination credits can be found on IMDb.
Since 2015 Lizzy has been researching and advocating for safer intimacy on stage with regards to nudity, simulated sex and sexual violence. Lizzy created Theatrical Intimacy in 2016 as the first intimacy company dedicated to improving industry standards around safer intimate practice in the UK. She is a certified Intimacy Director with IDC in the USA and Intimacy for Stage and Screen in the UK. Lizzy has trained as a movement director and fight director and is currently training the next generation of Intimacy Directors in the UK. Lizzy is also working within the Opera industry to create beautiful, dynamic and safe intimacy to this spectacular art form. 
Lizzy is also is a certified Teacher with the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat and has been a fight choreographer for over ten years. She has choreographed violence nationally and internationally in all nine weapon styles. Lizzy has taught nationally and internationally in the USA, Canada and Germany.

Episode 77 - Lizzy Talbot

Persistent and Nasty is a script-reading, debate and art as activism initiative for women and gender minorities in the stage and screen industries. We are committed to an intersectional approach and aim to use the space we’ve created to provide a platform for the spectrum of marginalised voices in our culture.

Through a series of script readings, live debates and a regular podcast series, we aim to amplify the unrepresented voices in theatre and film.

Our goal is to create a project that is safe and supportive, but that is also an act of protest. Persistent and Nasty is about changing the cultural narrative through the stories we tell.
