then I speed out,
begin to reroute,
walking down a back road, old building, 
a sign, big letters, reading keep out,

leap over the picket fences,
walk up the cracked driveway,
push open the creaky door, 
let my dry eyes dilate, 
and what was lying behind, 
took a second to cross my mind,
I saw a little girl crying, 
mom and dad, trying,
to figure it all out, 
even though the bills piling,
tears running down mommas face,
tired of tryna keep smiling,

snap back,
blink twice, now we back at,
the old building, dust covering the mat that,
says welcome home,
I look around, there ain't much to see,
walls crumbling, like the dreams, that these people had to leave,
I can't believe it,
these walls holding in every secret, 
every goodnight, I love you, and everything in between it,
i try leave but,
I can't move,
I'm caught looking at a frame on a fragment of wall,
a family vacation in Cancun,
the frame has a phrase, embossed, into the grain, 
it says home is who you with, not the place where you stay,

This tape was finished back in September, but I sat on it for way too long because I kept meticulously changing things and rerecording and whatever. After awhile of doing that, I decided that no matter what this is the version of the project that i'm putting out. A lot of work has went into this and this definitely helps round out how I view myself as an artist a little bit. Hopefully soon, I will figure it out. You rock but why are you still reading?
