Complete recording of my all night set at Nowadays in all it’s flawed glory. First 20 minutes or so I was still loading my usb in the booth, after that I fully lock in and don’t step away from the mixer until the set is finished (nope no breaks, not once!).

This was the journey of my little dj lifetime, big big love to everyone who was there for any part of it <3

gi has been a huge inspiration for us here on patina. We've been following gi's compilations and self releases all the way back from 2022 through to her recent label launch World of Knots and debut album Absorb. 

We love her experimental approach to IDM, drone, and driving soundscapes - special storytelling that are unsettling as they are warm. We had so much fun in the studio together so stick around towards the end for a lovely chat with gi on all things process and working with other sound makers.

Hammer Treatment ep01 — Vital b2b Salma Rosa

The Land of Rah is an Eora-based collaborative world-building project run by Julian Hovenden. Through concept albums with paired artworks the lore of this fantasy world has been steadily growing and the branches of its history intertwining. Eclectic live shows, galleries & hyper-collaborative (20+ artist) studio albums; the open arms policy of this project since its inception in 2019 has led to a beautiful community forming.

This mix features tracks recorded live from Julian's collaborative 'Sleepyhead' show held in late Feb.

M5 // The Land of Rah (FBi 94.5)

🥸———————— this is an opening set I played about a year ago at our monthly sorry records party at bossa here in brooklyn. Kinda our first ever sorry party focused on “techno" with sets following this one from my friends DJ Anarres and Devoye. Have wanted to share this for a while but when it comes to the recording here its a bit wonky cause I accidentally set up the DJM-REC app to record via my phone's internal mic instead of the cord running from the mixer. 

Think the recording really captures Bossa in a beautiful way though. You can hear the sound of folks finishing up their happy hour hour drinks and chatting at the bar. There's plenty of cue button clicks and fader flicks as well as friends arriving and throwing their coats in the dj booth, me apologizing to the five people on the dance floor like thirty minutes in after I accidentally hit the synch button... The intermittent blast of the fog machine becomes less and less distinct as the club fills up gradually over the course of the two hours. Ed from Bossa asks me to send him our guestlist for the night and both Wawa and Eugene tell me to turn the volume up. A guy asks me for the name of a DJ Duke edit at one point and I think Ali Berger makes a brief appearance somewhere in there. 

Gotta be one of my favorite sets I’ve played over the last year and a half of monthly parties at Bossa - just paid for Soundcloud premium for my personal account here so reckoned I'd share it here if anyone's interested 🐣💨
