Peta Parka is one of Sacramento's first artists to sign a major label deal, signing with Jive Records as one half of the group Level 6. Parkas love for music stemmed from his father who was a DJ and exposed him to the likes of Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel, and The Sugar Hill Gang. A young Parka would appear on his fathers homemade mixtapes, rapping freestyles as early as the age of 6. As Parka grew older he would hone his skill of MCing battling in numerous rap battles, and recording demos with local producers. Upon graduating from high school Parka would find himself in Hollywood working with Motown greats Holland Dosier Holland. Not long after he would leave college to sign a recording contract with Jive Records. The group Level 6 consisted of Parka and Jerry "Sweet Daddy" Foster, and their video "Who be The Dopest" was number one nationwide on The Box for consecutive weeks, while their album Long Overdue received 3 out of 5 mics and a favorable review in The Source Magazine. Unfortunately,a number of tragic events would transpire that would prevent Long Overdue from being released, and the group would disband. It was at this time that Parka began to collaborate w/ multi platinum producer Chocolate. The two would form PONOMO which would also include Slim The Mobster (Aftermath) and Keef G The Bum (Krazie Bones Thugline). 
Another project (All Praises Due) was recorded that would never see the light of day. The album would end up in Dr.Dres hands as he was forming his new Aftermath label. He wanted to sign the group to his label,.but the group chose to disband before he was able to. Through the many trials and tribulations hes experienced in the industry Parka has still managed to keep a keen ear to the street and a flow that only gets better with time.
