Named after the weekly *Dubmission* parties at the storied E-Werks nightclub, the latest release from *Anja Schneider* relays the sounds of her earliest musical experiences in 1990s Berlin, where DJs like Kid Paul powered the party, and amplifies the techno spirit of the old electrical substation for broadcast worldwide.

Further transmissions are detected within the bubbling techno of “Revolution,” inspired by the political upheaval throughout the world, as well as shifts within the dance music scene itself, and on *“Can You Feel It,”* which features a spoken word dispatch by vocalist *Parsifal Marin* of Brussels Pony Club that continues the long house music tradition of club tunes about rave experiences.

From Mr. Finger to Miss Kittin to Seth Troxler, many of the most memorable cuts in house music history spell out, with spoken words, the experience of clubbing while in the club itself. Meta-musical moment found to be effective on the dance floor. So it goes with “Can You Feel It,” the latest by Anja Schneider to pay homage to the Chicago greats, following last spring’s Ron Hardy-inspired “Hey,” which became an instant fave when Anja dropped it at the always in demand Mobilee rooftop parties in Barcelona.

Expect the same response in summer 2014, when “Dubmission,” and flipsides “Can You Feel It” and “Revolution,” hit the ears of sun-kissed partiers worldwide.

There aren’t enough cutting- edge artists out there who are bold enough to breathe life into their productions with true emotion. “Asterism” steers an equally subtle melancholic path, before morphing into a stunning rollercoaster ride of a track, firing with exuberant, emotive energy and desire. To complete this package, “Asterism” is treated to a remix from the uninhibited perspectives of Belgium’s exceptional rising star and kindred spirit, Locked Groove.

AEON references back to Alex Niggeman’s roots – the music which inspired him to start his career as a DJ and producer – and was created as a platform to release music that stands for quality and originality. Bio: 

Exploring different sounds is truly crucial for us as a label. While many in the industry try to specialize on one
certain sound, we want to break the tunnel vision and show the world great variation of music, while
maintaining the most important ingredient, that truly embodies the sound of Nie Wieder Schlafen :
Atmosphere. Kotu take you into the deepest realms of organic resonances, with the focus on mesmerizing
percussions and tribal drum patterns. The original tracks are complemented by a remix from Kincaid & Sinàl,
who recently joined the family.

„Skoura“ is a percussion focused production, that is based around a minimal, but strong groove. Screams &
giggles of hyenahs are present throughout the track and help transport you to a distant land. Organic drum
arrangements keep up the dynamics in this minimalistic track, which slowly evolves into a hypnotic ride, pulling
you in with its details.

While the vibe remains, the dynamics change quite drastically in „Makalu“. A production led by a variety of
interesting leads including a lovely vocal sample, harmonic pads & a rather striking bassline that achieves to
create a sound of the wild. Kotu builds on the minimalistic drum groove of Skoura with beautiful ethereal
elements only to hit you with clear drum drops, that will melt together with the natural atmosphere of this track.

At last, we invited Kincaid & Sinàl to create a track, that truly pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved
in electronic music :

The guys were able to rework the Original in a way that is not only fascinating, but utterly unique. Not a single
part of the remix seems the same, as the track is continiously progressing and changing. It feels as if you are
never in one place for too long. From dark basslines, to mysterious & intimate sections, up to high pitched
synths work...this remix has it all. A true trip, created with passion & professionel craft, through its entire
runtime. It is absolutely not surprising that the productions of these guys are supported all over the world – A
true honour to have them with us. As always please go have fun with these pieces of art!

What is techno? Scientists and philosophers have long since pondered the concept of its musical definition since it burst out of Detroit in the mid-‘80s. Is it that notion of the “ghost in the machine”, of soul from electronics that its inventors elicited? Or is it more the repetitive throb and thump of 4/4 beats and slow-burning momentum that the Berghain generation are proponents of? Croatian producer Petar Dundov’s stunning music manages to marry both ideals in the most explosive of fashions.

To Dundov, “techno is music that precedes movement. It is dance music, solid enough to carry emotions through the dance floor and abstract enough to be a template for ever”. And indeed his breathtaking productions embody this ethos, serving the inherent function of making your body pulse spontaneously while also challenging your brain with its complex melodies and slow-burning, hypnotic progressions. It’s the antidote for anyone who thinks that techno is about senseless, dull looping.

Although maybe the word “techno” doesn’t give enough detail about his style, it’s probably the nearest ballpark to whose principles his music adheres – and he is keen to expand the horizons of what people know and expect of the genre. But it’s that sense of his tracks being alive, forever evolving and expanding and increasing in intensity, which gives his music its unique sound and has seen his work crossover into a myriad of different areas of the global electronic music scene. The last two years have seen his mind-bending single Oasis (played by everyone from Dubfire to Sasha to Ben Klock to Prins Thomas to Timo Maas) take the scene by storm with its intricate, ever-changing melodies, John Digweed snap him up for an epic rework of Alan Fitzpatrick’s Reflections, and Gregor Tresher squeeze a deep, mesmerising remix of his track The Life Wire out of him.

His music shows you that he’s a producer with more than churning out mindless, functional and dispensable drivel on his mind. There’s a philosophy entrenched in his productions that breathes the very spirit of life and dynamism into them: “My ultimate goal as a producer and musician is to bridge the world of inspiration and physical world to the extent where the listener wouldn't be able to distinguish between the two. Music has this unique property to communicate deep emotions that are inherently in all of us. We just forgot how to use them, and my search is an attempt to revive those emotions where we all resonate as one.”

Born in Zagreb in the early ‘70s, his career in dance music stretches back the best part of 20 years, but it’s only in the new millennium that he’s been using his own name for his productions. Over the years he’s graced many of the world’s most prestigious and best-loved techno institutions – including mega-festivals I Love Techno, EXIT, Awakenings and Wire, and cutting-edge clubs like Berghain, Matter (RIP), Womb, Air, Fuse and Space. He counts a longstanding relationship with Belgium’s legendary Music Man label amongst his achievements, an imprint that has also played host to releases by everyone from Jeff Mills (for whose label Tomorrow he created the Sculptures mini-LP) to Green Velvet to Robert Hood, and after completing his acclaimed debut album Escapements in 2008, he’s got the follow-up in the works (for completion by the end 2010).

Petar Dundov makes intelligent electronic music that breaks boundaries, moves feet and twists minds. He is without a doubt one of the most inspiring, original and daring producers in electronica, and with the likes of Sven Väth, Francois K, Laurent Garnier, Adam Beyer, Josh Wink, Guy J, Glimpse, Hernan Cattaneo, Brendan Moeller, and Danny Tenaglia amongst his fans, it would be hard to disagree.
