Enter Petawane and instantly you know what the answer is...the love...soul...and heart of R&B. After listening to Petawane you'll realize he is one of the select few out to re-establish the rhythm in R&B and give you back what you've been missing... Born and raised in New York,(HARLEM) Petawane (pronounced Pee-tah-wayne)began singing in the church at the tender age of six. It was around this time he began putting on impromptu performances at the request of his Dad to entertain his friends. It was through his love for the music and the response he would get each time he delivered a note that made him realize he wanted to be a performer. He has embarked on a mission to fulfill his dream ever since. Petawane has honed his skills as a vocalist/writer/producer for many well known and up and coming artists. He has been a featured vocalist with Afrika Bambaata's Time Zone project, performed with Eric Cherry family & friends ensemble, worked with Wyclef Jean on Whitney Houston's My love is your love CD, and has done production and vocals for Lord Finesse and Brand Nubian. A Harlem Native, it's only fitting that Petawane pay dues at the world-renowned Apollo Theater stage and for his efforts, he was crowned two-time champ in 2004. In 2005 we lost one of our great soul singers of our time (Luther Vandross), Petawane graced the stage with a performance honoring Luther Vandross at the Apollo Summer stage( 8/11/05). 2006,Petawane won on Showtime@THE APOLLO 3 times. The whole world got to see three weeks in a row his skillfulness. Now working on his debute album.
