Pete Philips debuts with 'Strangers' EP on his new label Machine Born. 

'Strangers' is the introductory release from Pete’s musical outlet, Machine Born, which serves as a canvas for his experimental sound and sci-fi inspired storytelling. The EP features two tracks that navigate through themes of connectivity, futurism and human emotion.

'Strangers' journeys into the contrasting sounds of lo-fi drums and edgy synthesizers, the track is guided by a mystifying arpeggio that evolves alongside Pete’s whispered, tension-building vocals. 

'Wireframe' merges the feelings of nostalgia with futuristic beats, designed to keep the dance floor moving.

Pete Philips' 'Echoes' EP, out on You Plus One, is a game-changer. This EP showcases Pete’s immense talent and You Plus One’s knack for tapping into fresh, groundbreaking artists.

Hailing from Montreal’s vibrant electronic music scene, Philips has crafted a unique blend of sci-fi soundscapes and retrofuturism, merging indie dance with melodic house and techno. Featuring Pete's very own original vocals, the EP tells the relatable story of ever-fleeting names attached to those all-too-distant memories.

The multi-instrumentalist first emerged as Poe (CA) and worked closely with Husa Sounds Collective. His talent quickly caught the eye of the German label Fryhide, leading to a standout remix by HOSH. He’s rocked top stages like Centre PHI, Piknic Électronique, StereoBar, and our very own label artist showcase events at the infamous HAUSPARTY. Philips' style is reminiscent of New Order and Depeche Mode with a modern twist.
