The Nāṭya Śāstra (Sanskrit: नाट्य शास्त्र, Nāṭyaśāstra) is a Sanskrit treatise on the performing arts. The text is attributed to sage Bharata Muni, and its first complete compilation is dated to between 200 BCE and 200 CE, but estimates vary between 500 BCE and 500 CE

The text consists of 36 chapters with a cumulative total of 6000 poetic verses describing performance arts. The subjects covered by the treatise include dramatic composition, structure of a play and the construction of a stage to host it, genres of acting, body movements, make up and costumes, role and goals of an art director, the musical scales, musical instruments and the integration of music with art performance.

The Nāṭya Śāstra is notable as an ancient encyclopedic treatise on the arts, one which has influenced dance, music and literary traditions in India. It is also notable for its aesthetic "Rasa" theory, which asserts that entertainment is a desired effect of performance arts but not the primary goal, and that the primary goal is to transport the individual in the audience into another parallel reality, full of wonder, where they experience the essence of their own consciousness, and reflect on spiritual and moral questions.

Had the most amazing opportunity to play an ecstatic set at the legendary Boom Festival held every 2 years, in the beautiful setting of Idanha a Nova lake near Lisbon in Portugal @ the being fields, an ecstatic dance set @boomfestival

Boom was not just a festival, it has been and is being such an important learning in my journey 🌀 spiralling only upwards 😃

Pete Key believes that music is the most free, abstract, and influential form of art. Along with dance, music becomes powerful catalyst, that through self-expression brings to the highest point of spiritual epiphany.  

Dance music specifically, in many ways due to the repeatability, elevate to a unique emotional level, known as transcendence, that exists beyond sensory experience. 

From the late 90th, Pete Key has been exploring dance culture, through participation parties, festivals, concerts, and art events all around the world. He has been enjoying both, small private parties, somewhere in wild nature of Russia, Finland, India, Morocco, Netherlands, England, or huge festivals such as Boom, Burning Man, Eclipse Festival and many others. Most of these events now exist only among close friends’ memories, while others were filmed, edited and could be seen on Pete Key YouTube channel: youtube.com/PeteKey. 

Exploration and sensations, that music triggers, naturally brings Pete Key to idea of collecting his favorite music, which lately lead to desire to share his favorite tracks with friends and other people. His collection started at the beginning of this century.  

One of the most important aspect of music selection, is its advanced sound, uniqueness, and artistic ingredient, that obviously leads to underground, anti-commercial forms of EDM genres. Taste of music selection was largely formed at the influence of music producers, such as S.U.N. Project, GMS, Parasence, Shpongle, Loopus in Fabula, Kino Oko, Talpa, South Wild, Texas Forgot, Salakavala, Squaremeat, Mullet Mohawk, Krumelur, Minilogues, Tipper, Jan Jelinek, Sonmi451, and many others.

Despite Pete Key respects most of genres, he believes that psychedelic music has unique quality to fill us with certain emotions and senses, that provide divine experience. Pete Key believes that the psychedelic spirit does not depend only on track’s BPM, or style. As a result, many of Pete Key’s mixes contain tracks formally related to different genres, but certainly they are all filled with psychedelic vibes.  

Nowadays Pete Key admires producers working in broad spectrum of music genres, such as psychedelic techno, minimal, dark progressive, deeptech, funkedelic, bushtechno, zenonesque, psychill, chillrave, slowdansce and others that represent underground and futuristic sound.

Living between Moscow and New York, Pete Key has had gigs in private parties, clubs and festivals, such as Klutchi (Moscow), Paper Box (New York), Sunnyvale (New York), Jetlug Festival (New York), Pease Temple Gathering (New York) and others.
