This week, Pete flys solo, playing some of his favourites as well as taking some requests for the first time. John makes a brief appearance via a phone-in, in which the two discuss one of their favourite bands, James.

Songwriting Sessions 3 - Just Pete - 13/12/16

The fourth broadcast of Songwriting Sessions with Pete and John.

This week, the boys celebrate Christmas together, hitching a ride with Chris Rea, and reminiscing about Christmases gone by, with uncle Morrissey.

Presents are given (or a present to be exact), crackers are pulled and puns are a-plenty. Guest are also invited to write in with their suggestions for what John should cook Pete for his Christmas dinner.

Songwriting Sessions 4 - The Christmas Special - 20/12/16

This week, our equipment fails us, leaving John almost inaudible for the majority of the recording. But if you listen closely, you'll hear the sound of our two northern boys quizzing each other on just how much they know about their new years resolutions as they play, Meaty or Meat-Free/ Alcohol-Free or Alcohol in Thee. Spoiler: John wins.

The usual banter and quality tunes also make an appearance.

Songwriting Sessions 5 - New Years Resolutions (and A Broken Mic) - 10/01/17

This week, Pete and John attempt, and fail miserably, to break the Guinness World Records for the greatest vocal range, lowest vocal note and most sticky notes on a face at one time. The usual banter and music takes place, with Peter making the same technical error as last week for the beginning of the show, making John once again inaudible. Luckily he corrects it pretty early on, and the show goes on to climax with what is quite possibly the most ridiculous game ever played on radio: How many words can you name beginning with this letter in 30 seconds?

Songwriting Sessions 6 - Guiness Book of World Records - 17/10/17

This week, the theme is classic collabs, with great tunes from MJ, Queen, Bowie and McCartney. Shame they won't be heard on this clip, but what you can hear is the boys premiere their new segment: Rants or Bants. All the usual banter is intact.

Songwriting Sessions 7 - Collaborations, Duos and Duets - 24/01/17

This week, Pete and John are joined by special guests Tom Forbes and Jack Doyle. Tom talks about his new EP, Limbo, and we play his stellar track from that EP, Alpha Male. He also talks about his upcoming gigs, his influences, the song writing process and plays 3 tunes for us live in the studio: Addiction and the Art of Telling Lies, Turpentine, and a cover of Arctic Monkeys Crying Lightning, with Jack joining in on backing vocals here and there. 

Meanwhile, the usual banter continues with Pete and John playing Rants or Bants, radio's most pointless game show. Another corker of a show!
