Music from Thresholds by BrainSoup Collective. Performed at Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle on the 6th - 8th February 2024, on the D’Addario Stage.

The world has ended, it’s a desolate wasteland of scorched earth and damaged relics with memories of the past. Few survivors remain, in small camps battling the sandstorms and acid rain. In these ruins three lost souls are caught in a stand-off. How did they get here? And how will this end? All we know is one is holding a banana, another a lightbulb, and the last a fork. With one wrong flinch, this could all come tumbling down. It may look like mad max outside, but in here life persists in light of the calamity. Will we make it through the night? Join BrainSoup Collective as they explore these Thresholds through movement, music, clowning and voice. Following their debut at Durham Fringe 2023 with Ashtray, this work looks to further refine the surrealist theatre the company is known for, and the creative fusion they inject into their productions. It certainly won’t be what you expect, in a good way.

This collab was made live on twitch over the course of 24hrs! The concept was to have as many producers as possible create an 8-16 bar loop in a set key and tempo with the goal of connecting each idea into one continuous piece of music. I'm blown away with the quality of the final track.
