Dancing in Your Kitchen with Pete Le Freq 8.10.20

This week's installment of Spin City that aired  on myhouseradio.fm saw me team up with our friend, DJ/Producer, blogger, and label boss, Ken Avalon AKA Discoholic Ken ( https://soundcloud.com/discoholicsanonymous )founder of DiscoholicsAnonymous.com. The blog features interviews with industry leading profiles and labels, and exclusive content. Discocholics Anonymous Recordings is an off-shoot of the Discoholics blog with a firm focus on Disco, Re-edits, Nu-Disco and Balearic/Downtempo. The Black Light Disco Show airing on My House Radio on 7th December 2020 was a super tag-team event joining the Disco Houses of BLD and Discoholics Anonymous. On hosting duties in the 'Four to the Floor' Observatory atop BLD Towers was Esteban (aka Ste Hendry), who had been polishing the silverware and scrubbing the skirting boards all afternoon for the arrival of a very, very special guest - the one and only Discoholic Ken Avalon!

We're honoured and privileged to be able to call Ken a friend of the show and we’re huge admirers of what he’s doing with his own unstoppable juggernaut, Discoholics Anonymous.  Ken has been a very busy bee in 2020,  founding Discoholics Anonymous Recordings in the summer of 2020, landing a weekly Friday radio show on Prime Radio (the excellent Hot To The Touch) where he and his co-pilot, the supremely talented Martin Petersson showcase the very best of the disco scene and hold court to a very captive audience (yours truly included!)

BLD 7th Dec 2020 with Discoholic Ken

If there’s anyone who prompts the question “When does he find time to make that?” it’s serial editor and remixer Pete Le Freq. For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026. 

Simply put:  he makes what he loves in the headphones come out the big speakers.
