This episode of the Black Light Disco show is dedicated to the life, music and memory of our good friend Stephen Richards, who sadly passed away on 8th November 2025. 

So much has been written and said about Stephen since the tragic news broke - so many individual stories of how he connected people and gave a platform to a host of producers, artists and DJs out there who otherwise may not have had their voices heard or their talent recognised. If there’s anyone who prompts the question “When does he find time to make that?” it’s serial editor and remixer Pete Le Freq. For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026.
