Absolut Soul Radio Show FF Edits Guest Mix 06_25

I was back on the decks this week after a short break, with a very special artist for the guest mix, none other than Ken At Work. He’s one of the most prolific producers in the disco world, releasing multiple tracks every week, all of them absolute quality. I’ve been a big fan of his music for years, and have played countless tracks of his on my radio show. Last year he had a staggering 199 tracks that charted in the Traxsource Top 100!

As well as producing music, Ken is a talented DJ, having toured with and supported artist such as Prince, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, George Benson, Earth Wind & Fire, Chaka Khan, Barry White, Brand New Heavies, Soul II Soul and more

Ken has also recently started his own label, Workology, with a series of exciting producers lined up for future releases. You can hear a few of these on his guest mix :-)

If there’s anyone who prompts the question “When does he find time to make that?” it’s serial editor and remixer Pete Le Freq. For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026. 

Simply put:  he makes what he loves in the headphones come out the big speakers.
