Lots of lovely tracks stuffed into the first hour, with some funky oldies in the first half and an increasingly fast paced second half, culminating in a couple of new bits from myself right up at about 130 BPM. 

In the second hour it was my immense pleasure to welcome along the lovely Pedro from Lisbon with an excellently funky hour of tunes. Pedro came to the rescue when my planned guest let me down, and he came through in style with this excellent mix in no time at all - legend!

Funkier Radio Episode 104 - Pedro From Lisbon Guest Mix

The Black Light Disco Show was back on the  myhouseradio.fm airwaves with a double dipped, disco flavoured dipstick bomb to soothe your ears. 

This week, the exuberant, effervescent, extraordinary and pre-eminent Groove Surgeon, Cole Kutz was on hosting duties live from the Chaka Khan Collaboration Zone here in BLD Towers. Yes folks, Cole has made full use the freedom of BLD Towers since getting a key last month and he’s eagerly setting up the DJ Booth and oversized speakers ahead of taking us through the first hour. Expect an hour long force ten disco slap in the face! 

Joining Cole for the second hour is our guest for this week, the supremely talented Mark Stone!

Mark grew up in a musical family and was heavily influenced by his parents’ love of soul funk disco rock and roll.  He has been Dj’ing since 1998, playing around the UK and occasionally in Europe.  As well as being a talented DJ, Mark has produced his own edits and reworks and hosted a radio show on Grooveskool radio alongside luminaries such as Fingerman, Rupz, Apple Scruffs, Chewy Rubs and Scratch & Sniff to name but a few. Currently, you can find Mark in his residency at a quirky little place called the Crooked Man in Prestwich, Greater Manchester on the last Saturday of the month. 

Mark has been on our radar for some time now so we’re naturally delighted to showcase his considerable skills on his BLD debut.

The prolific Bulgarian has made some quality appearances on some esteemed labels such as Discoholics Anonymous, Tropical Velvet, Spa In Disco, Hive and Midnight Riot and has impressed with his crisp reworks every time. If there’s anyone who prompts the question “When does he find time to make that?” it’s serial editor and remixer Pete Le Freq. For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026. 

Simply put:  he makes what he loves in the headphones come out the big speakers.
