The PsychoTrópicos project has created tropicalized adaptations for alternative and psychedelic rock songs. The arrangements take into consideration the original song details, through its interpretation with Brazilian acustic instruments like the cavaquinho, 7-string guitar, viola caipira, pandeiro, reco-reco, agogo, triangle and cuica, classical instruments like the cello and flute, along side with more unusual sounding like Indian sitar, Venezuelan cuatro, ukulele, moringa, charango, among others... The vocals are influenced by the refined simplicity of bossa nova. The project includes musicians from the cities of Santos and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

One of my favorite songs off of one of my favorite albums (Vienna-1980) by one of my favorite bands, Ultravox.  I intended on having this done before going to see Midge Ure in concert a couple weeks ago so that I could give him a copy of it as my way of saying "Thank You" for all the joy he and Ultravox have brought to me over the past 30+ years, but I couldn't get the synth solo right (Thank you Korg for fixing that problem).  I'm still learning mastering, so it's still crap, but my new years resolution was to let go of my perfectionist ego and realize that "OK is good enough".
