Releases don’t come much more special than this one. We’ve seen her develop into one of drum and bass’ top vocalists, we’ve witnessed her shell down at international festivals as a DJ, and now we’re feeling immensely proud to reveal A Little Sound’s debut EP, Breathe. As one of Born On Road’s beloved family members who has been on her own beautiful journey of growth alongside the label, this release is a real Born On Road family moment.

The EP represents A Little Sound to a tee. From flying the flag for Bristol with a Dr Meaker link up on “The Other Side”, to the bass-heavy combination with Document One on “Better Off Alone” demanding gun fingers in the rave. But it’s the dancefloor sounds of “Memories” with Gray that is particularly special for us, considering A little Sound’s journey initially launched after the two teamed up on “Fallen” in 2020.

A Little Sound has come a long way in the two years since that track – from being responsible for vocals garnering millions of streams including on “Lakota” and “Back In Time”, to performing at huge events such as Rampage Open Air, Hospitality on The Beach and Glastonbury, but there’s still so much more to come from an artist who is destined for the top.

We always love bringing through releases from new artists on the label – and there’s been quite a few of them over recent months – but there’s something particularly special about one of our long-standing family members bringing through their biggest body of work to date. The Maneuver That Saved the Stars:
In the year 3333, not far from the nebulae-drenched edges of the Woodyverse, XNX—no longer the captain but a cosmic war-god forged from fractured time—patrolled space aboard the Astro Drifter, now his personal flagship of annihilation and rhythm. Somewhere between the Orbiting Cliffs of Echo-9 and the rave-moons of Bassiar, a tremor surged across the quantum threads of space-time: a shadow fleet powered by stolen tech from the forgotten gods of WW2 had breached the Woodyverse.

The enemy's leader, an ancient cyber specteral commander named Helix Krall, aimed to mute the symphony of reality with his Silence Engine. If activated, the cosmos would fall into unbreakable stillness—no sound, no light, no groove.

Mozey back on Serial Killaz? Of course he couldn’t stay away too long, it’s not like we have been ignoring his many calls and texts is it, especially now he’s decided to put down the spray can, make some more killer beats and send them our way.

Harking back to the good old days of decorating train stations, brick walls and the like with various colours of spray paint, Mozey takes us on a trip of ‘Criminal Damage’ with the first in a two part series. Certainly riding on the recent wave of wobbling basslines, both ‘Frica’ and ‘Russian Roulette’ go down the route of frantic LFO digits with the addition of Mozey’s signature arrangements.

You like your beats hard with a bit of a skip in their step? If so, then ‘Frica’ is going straight in your crates. It’s loveable pace combined with an array of melodic bass hits you right in the feels although to be honest, that’s probably not what Mozey was after with this. Just don’t announce it to anyone.

‘Russian Roulette’ is a synth arroracks dream, adding luscious layers to the wonky bassline lead. A potential intro to any 2021 spy movie that you might get away with seeing at the cinema, failing that - just drop it at an illegal rave and hide under the redline.
