Refuge

The composition was inspired by the poem "Crossing the Water" by the American poet Sylvia Plath (1932-1963).

Crossing the Water

Black lake, black boat, two black, cut-paper people.
Where do the black trees go that drink here?
Their shadows must cover Canada.

A little light is filtering from the water flowers.
Their leaves do not wish us to hurry:
They are round and flat and full of dark advice.

Cold worlds shake from the oar.
The spirit of blackness is in us, it is in the fishes.
A snag is lifting a valedictory, pale hand;

Stars open among the lilies.
Are you not blinded by such expressionless sirens?
This is the silence of astounded souls.

Hey, it’s me again!
This piece has a long history. I wrote it many years ago, back when I was living in Liverpool. The original title was Waterloo – named after the small seaside town just outside the city. I often took the train out there, just to walk along the shore and gather my thoughts.

The sea has always had a deep, humbling power to me – vast, strong, timeless. It teaches you humility. Being near it felt like standing next to something ancient and wise.

Recently, I rediscovered this piece and played it again. It felt like a quiet conversation with the sea – me asking, the sea answering. That’s how I shaped the sections of the piece: a dialogue between the searching and the still, the questioning and the calm.

The visuals in the video are simple – I’m still learning and experimenting – but they’re meant to hint at that inner process, that silent exchange with something greater.

Hey, it’s me again. I just uploaded a new piece – something quiet, something gentle.

This piece was written and recorded in my small studio in Berlin,
on my felted Bechstein piano.

It’s a quiet track – not slow, just gentle.
There’s a kind of weightlessness in it
that reminded me of how things felt
before we started calling them memories.

The title came early. Letters of Lightness.
I didn’t imagine them written down.
More like: moments you carry without knowing.
Not written, but felt.

This project is a continuation,a deeper descent and a softer emergence.

It carries the weight of what couldn’t be said the first time, the fragments I buried, the echoes that haunted the quietest parts of me. These songs are not just music—they're remnants. Proof. Emotional residue from the fallout of grief, of family fractures, of trying to find a voice in the aftermath of being silenced.

"II" is where I begin to untangle.
Where I stop asking for permission to feel.

These tracks were written in moments where I couldn’t breathe, when the memories were too loud, and the future felt unreachable. But through every beat, every word, I stitched something back together. Not to forget but to finally make peace with what I carried.

This isn’t just a goodbye, don't allow the darkness to place you in a bind.
