.  "Fawkes the Phoenix", Composed by John Williams, was the theme representing Dumbledore's pet Phoenix in the Harry Potter Movie Chamber of Secrets. Fawkes helped to save the day in the final stages of the movie.
I recently played this with the Friday Club at the Malvina Major rest Home, as part of our Movie theme performance.

The introduction and some of the soloing tools are based on a mistake. I miss interpreted some of the changes (chords) and then found I really liked the difference they made to the tune. So I kept the different changes and based the intro on them

I use this track to show how the soloing can be placed differently in tunes. I love the tune heaps so I didn't want to disturb it to much. Therfore I placed the solo around it like bookends

This band writes great music. They are very popular with my students . This arrangement  starts in the middle of where the tune would normally start. I am using this to show how tunes should be adapted to the instrument in a free and creative way. There is so much that can be done with a good tune and this is good tune

Wooden Heart", created by Fred Wise, Ben Weisman, Kay Twomey and German bandleader Bert Kaempfert, was based on a German folk song by Friedrich Silcher, "Muss i denn". 
The song is best known for its use in the 1960 Elvis Presley film G.I. Blues. It was a hit single for Presley in the UK Singles Chart, making No. 1 for six weeks there in March and April 1961.
	I played this for our playing group’s (The Friday Night Club) performance at the Malvina Major rest home this year. We were looking for compositions with a German theme and out popped this tune. It is most enjoyable to play.

If I Die Young by Kimberly Perry
	Recorded by the Band Perry in 2010 “If I Die Young” was released in June 2010 as the second single from the bands self-titled debut album which was released on October 12 2010. I chose to learn this tune after a student learnt an arrangement from an Alfred’s book. If you wish to learn it that is the place to start as well as a good listen to the words.
 It is a pretty tune with sad words. The words however help the phrasing. Hope you enjoy 
