On My Beach is meant to feel and sound like the place I go to mentally when I feel depressed. Cut off from everything, not sure how I got there, and a complete certainty that there is no exit. I've learnt to exist in this place and accept it for what it is, and sometimes it even feels like a comfort. I envisage it as some ethereal plane but a literal beach at the same time. The loneliness is less consuming if you take time to listen to the waves.

Accidentally In Love (Counting Crows)

I used to sing harmonies on street corners in the Bronx in the late Sixties, then joined a band called Vanilla Fudge before another band with the same name became famous. In my mid 20s I decided I wanted to record an album with just me singing multi-part harmonies. I never got around to it. Until now. Following my recent retirement, I tackled many of those songs that meant so much to me over the years. All vocals are by me. Instrumentation is provided by the superb musicians at Recisio Inc., which specializes in sales of music backing for thousands of songs.
