Part of the new guard of the Parisian underground and an integral part of the Rakya crew Idris Bena is in the process of making all the right noises. And some brand-new ones too. With a definite ear for the sounds of era’s gone by Idris has a firm grasp of the high energy future retro sound that has paved the way for many French artists to break out of their respective domestic scenes and onto the world tour.

Releases on labels such as Opia Records, Rakya and of course his own Forest Ill Records (co-founded with Nemo Vachez) have sent his stock soaring. His tracks are well known for packing in a lot of creative ideas but never at the expense of a good groove. Next up in our quest to ascertain musical majesty, we bring you Parasol Culture bossman @thomabulwer. “Raised in Techno, schooled in UKG, cemented in House” - one hell of a sound bite and the keys to the foundation of being a frontline selector. Naturally Thoma’s mix shifts between garage-aligned tech house, hypnotic tripped-out rhythms and straight-up 4x4 rudeness. We simply adore the weirdness and we don’t care who knows.

Firstly, a bit about the man. Regularly observed within his natural habitat at the Lion & Lamb, Thoma has become suitably accustomed to featuring on lineups alongside the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Burnski and Voigtmann to name but a select few. Aside from the residency, he has frequented respected venues such as The Cause and the world-famous Fabric. This man is no stranger to controlling a dance floor and relaying his vision via succinct sonic debauchery.

When he’s not playing to an enraptured crowd, he can be found in his bespoke studio crafting musical treats, the likes of which have featured on labels like Seven Hills, Alternate Facts and of course his own label Parasol Culture which just so happens to have dropped a limited run of dubplates only yesterday. Happy accident? Yes, no and maybe.

This mix is guaranteed to get you moving no matter where you are on this ludicrous hellscape we call Earth. Now off you go to drink, be merry and make the most of today.

Born in the south of Holland and started playing music at the age of 12. Cinnaman has also compiled the Beat Dimension compilations wich are focusing on a fresh and invigorating sound coming from L.A, mixing electronic music with R''n'b aesthetics and hip hop drum patterns. Since this project, Yuri has recently been collaborating with Tom Trago and Presk among others, making stepping hip hop and flecked house grooves. He got his DJ name because he was always chewing on candy cinnamon sticks hence his name Cinnaman.
