Meet Glossy Mario, the man behind Glossy Mistakes, a record label to look forward to. 

Mario is a digger of its own, exploring beyond electronic music; he is an active and beloved DJ and promoter in Madrid, playing recently around Europe and Asia. Glossy Mistakes has reissued the works of legendary artists such as Finis Africae, Susumu Yokota, and Akira Ito. These beloved releases have been meticulously remastered and reintroduced to the music scene, showcasing Mario's impeccable musical taste and profound knowledge. It's clear that he approaches each reissue with the utmost care and affection. Now, his efforts extend also to the work of contemporary artists; with an exciting pipeline of releases to dive into :)

A few words from the artist:
1/ How would you describe your personal connection to music and how it influences your creative process?
Very difficult because my life is very much lived "in music", in that the separations between my engagement with music and the rest of my existence are very indistinct. I need some silence every day to continue. For the rest of it I am pretty much consumed.

2/ As an artist, how do you see the intersection between fashion and music? 
Generally I am not a genre person. This extends to disciplines as a whole as much as it does to genres within disciplines. Every creative outlet is very much a space in which ideas are interchangeable and so on. So if you trained in pattern cutting and you also trained in an instrument then you would be able to work on the same idea in both fields. 

3/ How did you curate this musical sequence/audio journey?
Having said that about genres I wanted to make something that spliced a trip-hop mood and DIY/no wave songs. Trip-wave. A Simply Red dub mix had to be the heart of the thing, everything else extends from this centrepoint.

4/ Three words to define your mix for Études?

Jeffrey Sfire’s introduction to the underground dance scene and illegal warehouse parties of Detroit
occurred at the tender age of 15. This escape from suburba led him to some of the city’s most talented
DJs and musicians, who soon exposed him to a new culture of creative riches. Learning by example,
Sfire’s taste and skills as a DJ developed naturally and he soon began playing out at parties, clubs and
sleazy gay afterhours, usually entering covertly through back doors or with a fake ID. A move to Chicago
exposed Sfire to a whole other side of dance music history, including "Italo Disco" and genre jumping dj
styles of the Hotmix 5 radio djs. He spent afternoons digging through record store crates, meeting retired
DJs and developing his musical palette. Having held numerous club residencies, he regularly plays at
Panorama Bar and Cocktail D’amore in Berlin, The Carry Nation and Wrecked in New York, Hard French
in San Francisco, and his own party Loosen Up! In Detroit, consistently offering a finely-tuned selection of
Acid House, Italo Disco, Latin Freestyle, & 90’s NYC House. In 2013 Jeffrey and SOPHIE released the
first untitled “Sfire” record on Cocktail d'Amore Music out of Berlin which has become a cult classic. Since
then the duo has released 3 more untitled “Sfire” records. He is currently living in Detroit and is one half of
the Italo/Electro duo Looky Looky with Ian Clark released on Dark Entries records of San Francisco

With a unique talent for selecting records and slowly inviting them to intertwine into complex and compelling narratives, Vladimir has been pushing the boundaries of electronic music since the 80s. 

Although he has been making music for almost two decades, he really honed his craft and gained exposure when he became resident at Düsseldorf’s Salon des Amateurs club alongside Lena Willikens, Toulouse Low Trax and Wolf Muller.

Immerse yourself in two hours of deep listening with this Rasputin-like, but actually very gentle man who explores notions of beauty and tranquility through unusual frequencies created by playing records at the wrong speed.
