Childhood friends Elle Shimada and Kiala Ogawa reunite to trace their roots from Tokyo to global soundscapes.

Raised by musician parents and shaped by underground dance floors of Tokyo, they became producer-singers through very different paths and found themselves in London and Paris.

A journey through Japanese deep digs, jazz, bass, and spirit-led rhythms stitched across time, memory, and city lines. After years apart, they return to the sounds that shaped them.

Each set and production is sweaty, seductive, and charged with an unmistakable attitude. His approach pulls from countless influences without boundaries, weaving them into something raw, magnetic, and impossible to ignore.

Since becoming a resident at Milan’s Vitamina party in 2018, 131bpm’s presence has only expanded. In August 2023, he released his debut album on Berlin’s Body Language — the namesake party where he’s also held a residency since 2022. The record, followed by a remix album featuring BASHKKA, Roza Terenzi, Kodemul, and more, cemented his reputation as an artist who thrives on turning intensity into a sensual euphoria.
