What Old Wayne Said

We have all experienced pain in our lives. Some may feel the pain a little more than others and that's just enough to keep them from moving forward or pursuing new adventures in their life and in relationships. Their journey and pain are real.

Devil's Got a Holler

a group of girls got together 
to plan a surprise event
a prom-style dance with all their dads 
and here is how it went

the dads got wind of the caper
and decided to have some fun
“they’re playing at playing with love”
they said “let’s show them how it’s done”

the father-daughter festivities 
commenced in a dim-lit hall
above the happy dancers’ heads
slowly turned a mirrored ball

as if the stars of heaven
had tumbled down from their pads
mirrored darts of light raced around 
the dancing daughters and dads

then suddenly the music stopped 
and standing beneath the ball 
one father took the floor and said
“tonight i proudly speak for all”

“no one will ever give their love 
“the way we your fathers do
“although a more compelling force
“will soon take hold of you

“but you deserve fatherly ways 
“that warm your heart and never burn 
“a  love that feeds your happiness
“expecting nothing in return 

“not just because you’re beautiful 
“not for all things you’ll do 
“but just because you are women
“most of all because you are you”

The Father-Daughter Dance

Macbeth and his buddy Banquo hear three witches predict a promotion for Macbeth and the Scottish throne for Banquo. Sure enough, King Duncan promotes Macbeth.

Lady Macbeth urges her husband to whack the king. He does so plus a couple of guards just before the king’s two sons arrive, see the dirty deed done, and split. 

Meanwhile Lady Macbeth gets her hands in the blood, and washes them, crying, “Out damned spot!”

Now Macbeth is king of Scotland but he has to kill Banquo and son, so they don’t take the throne away. Banquo is killed, his son escapes.

Macbeth consults with the witches. 

Good news, “Macbeth shall never vanquished be until Great Birnam wood… shall come against him.” 

And “no man of woman born shall harm Macbeth.”

Bad news— Banquo’s descendants will rule Scotland.

Macbeth goes on a murderous rampage, while King Duncan’s son Malcolm recruits an army that sneaks up on the castle camouflaged with branches cut from Great Birnam Woods. 

Lady Macbeth loses her shit and tops herself, Macduff, not born of woman but C-section, kills Macbeth. Malcolm is crowned king.
