“San Francisco’s Doomed” ...or so they say. There are, however, four Cool Ghouls who will have none of that. Born and raised in Fog Nation’s stripmall suburbs, these boys dreamed of the day when they would move to Shaky City.  San Francisco - the town so many of their electric heroes (Creedence, Thee Oh Sees, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Flamin’ Groovies etc.) call(ed) home - was their destiny.  So they moved to SF, formed a band, packed themselves into crowded apartments, found lousy jobs serving beer and coffee to Bay Area glassholes (alongside counter culture legends), and they have no plans of leaving. Thank the gods their dreams came true! Cool Ghouls are the perfect antidote for San Francisco’s current mess.  They are providing the real-life soundtrack to a new generation of young, loud and gritty San Franciscans that wake up everyday with a beautiful feeling just knowing that these guys won’t let this city’s culture burn to the ground. Their loud guitars, acid riffs, party screams, and stacked-as-f*ck three-part vocal harmonies are echoing down the alleys and shaking foundations. A Swirling Fire Burning Through The Rye is their sophomore full-length album, and it rules.  Recorded live to tape by San Francisco’s Sonny Smith (Sonny and the Sunsets) and mixed and mastered by Mikey Young (Total Control, Eddy Current Suppression Ring), this record elevates Cool Ghouls psychedelic garage jams to a whole new level.  So it is, that Empty Cellar Records is very stoked to present to you ten new delectable Cool Ghouls songs brimming with infectious creative energy. With the vocals on top (did we mention the great harmonies), the drum fills tight, and guitar tones dialed in, this record is an excellent complement to the neverending nights of a neverending summer.  If you don’t believe us, then attend one of their local shows and watch San Francisco’s colorful underbelly dance its cares away. Cool Ghouls definitely knows what’s going on. The band is not oblivious. Just listen to tracks like “The Mile” or “Reelin’” to know that they too are trying to wrap their mind around the swirling fire burning through their town. San Francisco is still doomed... it always has been and always will be.  At least these Cool Ghouls are here to help it go down with just a little bit of true class.  Available this fall - featuring photography of one of their wild house shows by Michael Lucero - on Vinyl and CD from Empty Cellar Records and cassette from Burger Records.  300 limited edition lps will be available in deluxe swirling fire colored vinyl.

Depois de soltar duas prévias de seu novo trabalho - um clipe de “Avalanche”, registro feito no Centro Cultural São Paulo em outubro, e o single “6000 Dias”, o Boogarins lança agora seu segundo álbum, “Manual”. 

“Manual” foi gravado em fita no Estudio Circo Perrotti de Jorge Explosion, na Espanha, e posteriormente finalizado no Brasil no estúdio caseiro do guitarrista Benke Ferraz. Além do novo trabalho, a banda acaba de lançar no Brasil pela primeira vez seu disco de estreia, “Plantas Que Curam”, lançado originalmente pela Other Music Recording Co e agora no mercado brasileiro pela Skol Music. 

Formado por Dinho Almeida, Benke Ferraz, Raphael Vaz e Ynaiã Benthroldo, o Boogarins acaba de embarcar para Londres em uma turnê europeia que passa pela França, Bélgica, Dinamarca, Noruega, Holanda, Suíça, Itália, Espanha e Portugal.

Ariel Pink sets a serene but complicated scene for the next chapter in his curious career with “Another Weekend,” the first solo material heard since the prog-pop opus pom pom. Contrary to the lyrics of “Another Weekend” (and fortunately for both fanatics and the newly initiated), Pink is neither too shy or humble to have brought his singular style of pop music beyond the bedroom for the befuddled masses over the past two decades, but returned to the formative, familiar setting to craft what will surely live as another shimmering moment in an unrivaled canon.  Encapsulating the lingering euphoria of a regrettable weekend over the edge, “Another Weekend” speaks in morose volumes while whispering sweetly, the dichotomy of Pink’s pathos once again on display. Backed with “Ode To The Goat (Thank You)”, “Another Weekend” will be shared as a 7” single and through conventional music serving mechanisms on Wednesday, June 7.

Ariel Pink - Another Weekend

Next up in the Fuzz Club Session series is Austin’s Holy Wave! Following the release of their 2016 LP ‘Freaks Of Nurture’ we invited the band to London to lay down a session. Despite still being steeped in a 60s Nuggets nostalgia the material on the session see’s Holy Wave ditch the Seeds-esque garage for a more washed out, reverberating psych-pop sound. The warm analogue recording creating a blissed-out echo chamber of sun-soaked psychedelia – recorded straight to tape and committed to the wax.

Limited to 500 copies. 100 on white vinyl exclusive to the Fuzz Club store. 400 on black vinyl. All on 180g vinyl and with printed inner sleeves. Digital download included.

The silver metallic train sped through the night at warp speed, like a bullet being fired out of a revolver. It hardly made a sound as it hurtled through the air leaving a hazy smoke in its wake. Outside the window, cold grey landscapes whizzed past, and upon them new mirrored structures were being erected rapidly as though they had been ready assembled. Set against the blazing red sky, a brand new sky line was appearing before their eyes, hot on the heels of the path that their train was taking. Their destination was unknown, all they knew was that their jouney may never end. 

Electronic rock band K-X-P move into new territories for their release on Svart Records. The Finish four-piece blend synths with techno and rock influences and the results are pretty cosmic.
