This song is for Scott and Jess. It is about their last holiday together, which was at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado USA. They loved their time there and all the great people they met.

A very special thanks to David and Andy for helping me greatly, with this song....I could not have completed the track without you both.

I was driving home from a gig, listening to the radio. This guy was talking about some rock songs having what he called "Schoolboy lyrics". A couple of weeks later, that phrase came into my head so I thought I would write a rock song with "schoolboy lyrics".
It took me half an hour and my initial thoughts were "This song is mince"
I let Andy hear the track. He was not too impressed either, but said he still wouldn't mind doing the guitars. He also progammed the drums. After Andy put down the guitars and drums, I recorded the bass and vocals. I thought it sounded much better, but it needed a strong solo. I phoned my mate John. He took a demo home with him and phoned me about a week later saying he had worked out a solo. I think it took him about 25 minutes to work it out. When he came to the studio to record the solos I was just amazed. What a player. 
A couple of weeks after recording John, I put down some piano. It had started off with me not too sure about this song but I am now really pleased with the final mix. Hope you lke it too......... Peter.

I wrote this song years ago. Much later, when I eventually got round to recording the track, I told my wife, Yvonne, that I was going to change the lyrics as I thought they were a bit soppy. She said "No, just leave these lyrics alone". So I took her advise and kept them unchanged. 
A few weeks before the sessions started, I wrote a new middle 8 for the song (as the first version had only an instrumental middle) and then asked Brian if he would help me put the backing track together. His piano and orchestration arrangement just blew me away. His drums are pretty good too. Russell and Willie came in a couple of weeks later and were just great. I am really very pleased with this track.... Hope you like it to..... Peter

I was sitting at home one Saturday afternoon. It was windy and raining outside but it was nice and warm indoors. Yvonne had just made me a cup of tea and she was pottering about in the kitchen. I picked up the guitar and this song just came out. I think it captured a nice wintery mood.
A few years later, when I started to record my songs, I recorded the vocals, guitars, drums and keyboards and deliberately left out the bass.
The mix seemed much better by just keeping it simple. I am quite chuffed with this wee song....... Peter

I usually write my songs by making up the tune in my head first. Then I will pick up my guitar to work out the chords. However, with this song, I was just sitting strumming a D chord and the melody just came.
I spent a wee bit of time writing the lyrics which I think are a bit soppy, but as the song is for Yvonne (and she liked them) I thought well they must be no too bad.
Jim came over and I played him the song. He liked the track and then (after a good blether, a cup of tea and a digestive biscuit) he wrote the middle 8 which I thought was great. A sort of dreamy melody. We started recording the song a few days later.
The musicians and singers came up to the studio and (in between tea and biscuits, yet again) they did a really great job.

My Whole World

Singer Songwriter, Sound Engineer and Producer.   "Click on each of the song titles for more information about these tracks". Well, where do I start?... I have released 4 albums so far 1) The Dalton Hill Tapes, 2) Holidays, 3) The Waters  &  4) The Blue Haze.  The first four songs already uploaded are one from each album.  I have recently uploaded another of my songs, Colorado Skies, which is another track from The Blue Haze album. Hope you like it.... At present, I am still working on my new album, initially titled "All Day Long" which will have much more of an acoustic feel to the songs, most of which are my very early compositions. I want give them a chance to be heard for the first time ........There are a total of 15 songs so far for this new album...
