Tonight I had great fun tothis new backing track! There's a mix of lead and rhythm playing on this one. I used some different effects throughout.

I did get a little lost in the middle, but there were some cool parts that I'm happy with and I learnt something new, which is all you can ask really!

#MetalZoneChallenge - Thunderstorm Machine

I've used the unnaturally high noise floor and the powerful semi-parametric EQ of the MT-2 to make a wonderful thunderstorm machine. 

Relax to the blissful sounds of rain on your window/roof, or pretend you are out camping in the bush. Listen in wonder to the rumbles of thunder coming across the valley!

I also combined it with a compressor (to raise the noise floor some more), the EHX Pitch Fork (for the thunder), and some reverb and delay to smooth it out. No guitar needed!

I just bought my new Boss DD-500 delay pedal today, and I put together this incredible sound with it. Also in the track is the EHX Pitch fork (at times), a bit of the Hardwire Supernatural reverb to add some shimmer now and then, and the Zcat Reverb/hold that to hold the drone in the second half. I'm using my Stratocaster and my Tubemeister 18 amp as well :)In the last quarter I also use my ebow to get a really ghostly sound.

I hope you enjoy listening to this one as much as I enjoyed playing it!

(It's all improvised so don't ask for sheet music :P )

Nothing professional here. Just had a cool groove going on my looper pedal and decided to record me messing around on top of it. Recoring is done with my phone so sorry about the quality!

There are some good ideas in there though. One day something from this could be a proper track.

Funky Modal Piece

The backing track for this improvised piece is adapted from Scot Mcdade's song, Workin For Cash. When I heard it, I just loved the beat and the chord progression, and couldn't help thinking it would work great with a guitar solo ;)

I finally got the time to sit down and do some recording last week, so I made this. The drums are just some samples on my computer, the bass is a pitch shifted stratocaster (thanks to my EHX Pitch Fork pedal!), and the rhythm and lead guitar are both done on my strat as well.

Effects are really only my compressor pedal and my wah pedal. Some compression, EQs and reverb were used in the mixing stage as well. Overall, just something quick I put together in half an hour. Don't judge me too hard :P
