“My Only Way” is something profound and refreshing, a small universe all of its own. Taking a subtle and creative approach, Agatha Pher plays with the form, layering careful, almost disparate layers. A sparse intro unravels little by little, ambient and almost orchestral, opening into vocal fragments like snatches of a dream. The stepping beat builds, overlaid with cross-rhythms: this is a lilt, an undercurrent, a push- and-pull that gets into the head and under the feet. It’s a work of considered movement, right up to the reverb that rolls to a gentle stop.

Lauren Mia's new EP Eternal Existence on Luna Semara’s Petit Matin is another bold statement of her singular sound across two fantastic cuts. The LA Native has already released on the likes of Anjunadeep, and her own Ear Porn Records, but she comes correct here with another fine release.

First up is "One" an artful melodic techno showcase. It has crispy hi hats and enveloping bass with plenty of deft pad work up top.

"Converge" follows, and is a deep and spine tingling tune with shadow vocals from Fractures. They really layer in the emotion as the rolling and warm drums head off into the stars. Fracture is the moniker of Melbournian singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Mark Zito, and has already seen him receive incredible support from the likes of Triple J, The Guardian & The Fader.

Says the artist, "This project comes in two pieces. ‘One’ is the story of our souls being one of something bigger, all connected and existing infinitely…eternally. We all come here with a mission, a purpose, but at the end of it all, this purpose, most of the time, serves for something greater to our understanding, even if we think we know or understand, we don’t. It's all part of the plan. ‘Converge’ is relevant. ‘Converge’ is to remind us of the ‘convergence of our soul. Ever heard of the ‘split?’ Our soul splits at some point in our life upon becoming human, through the experiences, emotions, traumas, love, that makes each of us who we ARE.

“Converge” takes on a bassy bounce in Guzy’s version, swapping in bumping drums and a clubbier feel. A brash staccato tumbles around the scale, and the vocal becomes the backdrop in this rhythm-centred arrangement. Still, the soft soul of the track is very much retained, fluttering like flags between the bold lines of the beats.

Clawz SG spins a visceral and percussive version of “One,” peeling away the foliage of the mid-range melodies to deliver a tighter, sparer club track.
