Our latest demo comes from Beta Blocker and The Body Clock, a three-piece from Oxford who define their music as “deliciously distorted, balancing noise, melody, space, and rhythm in a fuzz-fuelled frenzy.” They say that they are trying to avoid the pitfalls of the grunge revival by employing innovative sonic flourishes to make their songs fresh and relevant. Pop tropes like twisted falsettos, sugary harmonies, and surf guitar wade up from scuzzy depths, emerging like the cross pollination of Glenn Branca, Pavement and the Dixie Cups.
