Tom Hobden & Eliot James Present: Roam is the stunning debut, collaborative LP from composers Tom Hobden (Noah and the Whale, Mumford and Sons and Laura Marling) and Eliot James (Kaiser Chiefs, Two Door Cinema Club and Bloc Party). Frustrated by a lack of opportunities for and appreciation afforded to orchestral strings within the world of pop, Tom and Eliot saw no other option but to take things into their own hands. Ambitious from the outset, Roam reflects a shared love of late and neo–Romantic composers, and offers a knowing doff of the cap in the direction of the likes of William Barber, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Benjamin Britten, as well as more modern, post classical composers such as Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt and Max Richter

𝒜𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓁𝓁𝑒𝓈 𝒞𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝒟𝑜𝓌𝓃 (𝓈𝓁𝑜𝓌𝑒𝒹 + 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒷)

Pêtr Aleksänder create a considered sound, controlled in it’s execution, by way of purposefully limiting the instruments at their disposal to piano and strings, but never at the expense of the raw, emotional impact that a simple yet incisive sound can deliver. Early recordings such as Sans Souci quickly caught the attention of streaming services, the wider public and in turn, renowned indie label Nettwerk, who offered the band a record deal which was signed in December 2017. The band released a music video for “Bells” in September 2017, featuring aspiring dancer Jacob Lang, a finalist in the contemporary dance category of BBC Young Dancer 2017. A support tour with Norwegian singer Susanne Sundfør in October 2017 saw the band perform across the UK and in Sweden. The live show consisted of the looping of various instruments and the re-imagining of arrangements, all before a backdrop of visuals created by the band themselves. The band are working on the debut album, to be released in 2018.

Music has always been my breath — the purest extension of who I am. Every note I write comes from the deepest parts of me, woven with love, joy, loss, and the rawness of grief. For years, I hid behind my emotions, masking them in my music, but I’ve finally found the courage to be unapologetically honest — to let it all flow, unfiltered and real.

Since I was 11, I’ve dreamed of composing, conducting, and performing with an orchestra. For a while, I stepped aside, pouring my energy into helping other artists grow, building my skills, and supporting their visions. But now? It’s my turn to step into my own truth, fully and fearlessly.

Every single day, I feel grateful to live this passion — it’s my fire, my purpose, and my love. And now, I can’t wait to share it with you and hear how it makes  ‘you’ feel. This is just the beginning.
