The Elevator

PETUNIA is the moniker of singer-songwriter Gemma Louise Stanford. Having previously focused on writing songs for others, Gem’s debut single ‘God, Queen and Country’ marked her first release as an artist herself. Written in her final year at Leeds Conservatoire, the track revolves around British patriotism and austerity and sparked a whole new darker sound for Gem. This new sound subsequently led to the creation of PETUNIA, a project that would come to life with the help of friends met while studying.
