'Myths of East' is the debut EP by Vuta, producer from Belarus. Different cultures, orientalism and ethnic flavors inspire him to develop his own sound. The three tracks that make up the release blend sampled vocals, organic rhythms and mysterious melodies with
references to sounds from the Middle East, Africa and Asia. His music transports us to exotic scenarios of vibrant energy, making it great for smoky dance floors. The EP is scheduled to drop on march 30 by Bongosynth Records. The Brazilian independent label goes for its third release, being the first with only original tracks. ‘Myths of East’ is already receiving support from major artists like Dar Disku, who included the track Sapini in two recently recorded radio shows. 'Szaio is the anagrammatic alias of Toronto based Polish Canadian production designer turned musician Zosia Mackenzie.

Her debut album, Obraz (Portrait), initially began as a series of GarageBand sketches created over a month in the attic of her grandmother’s home in Warsaw.

Upon returning to Toronto, Mackenzie and her partner John O’Regan went to work in their home studio, swapping sounds and sequences with their Roland TR-909 and Juno 106, Sequential Circuits Prophet 600, and Soviet-era Formanta Polivoks.

Friends, neighbours, and dub techno pioneers Mark and Matt Thibideau provided additional ear candy, layers of vintage rack effects, and full frequency analog mixdowns for each of the album’s six songs at Repair-Lab Studio. Mastering and cutting was provided by Stefan Betke (aka Pole) at Scape Mastering in Berlin.

Pressed on gold 12″ vinyl and available in limited edition via Amsterdam’s Bordello A Parigi (as well as Mackenzie and O’Regan’s own Joint Account imprint in North America) Obraz represents a new and distinctive chapter in both Polish and Canadian electronic music.'

Bringing another gem to the forefront, DGTL Records releases new music with DJ/Producer Randy Collé (@colleofficial). The young artist’s years of production experience, combined with a multitude of music styles, is mirrored in his timeless yet fresh sound. Following the success of his single ‘Losing Time’ featured on his jointly-run label ‘Point in Time’, the 4-track EP reflects the emotion and depth that Collé has long brought to his sets. Inspired by artists like Cubicolor, Canada and Floating points — the new EP will be released on the 18th June 2021.

Setting the scene for the EP, the opening track ‘ATFER’ eases the listener into those first few moments on the dancefloor; with enticing grooves accompanying melodic electric-guitars and dramatic synth build-ups. The track is a direct imprint of his distinctive genre of music, which despite steering clear of clichés, manages to resonate with all audiences. It also embodies the inspiration for this release, stating “I always want to create something I feel touched by.”

It’s the perfect warm-up to what follows. True to its name, ‘Horizon’ is a playful storytelling of groovy electronica coupled with entrancing undertones. The surging nature of the track keeps the listener closely in its grasp, and is a masterclass on sleek sundowner sounds. It’s the perfect deep-dive into Collé’s production process; which he describes as a short film for which he makes the soundtrack.

Showcasing a more emotive style than its predecessors, ‘Now Here or Nowhere’ is the third track on the EP; with a somber take on signature house-percussion and emotive synth chords. Merging a sense of contemplation and depth, the track is an original take on dancefloor production that crosses over to the early hours of the morning.

As the closer of the EP, the fourth and final track is a remix on ‘ATFER’, by Silician DJ/Producer Musumeci (@musumeci). Adding an italo-ish spin on the original, the artist has been specially hand-picked by Collé to work on the EP. Re- imagining the track with his two decades of playing for international clubs and festivals around the globe, his adaptation of signature dance tempos and club-heavy electronic elements is the perfect wrap-up to this unique EP. We’re excited to see what’s next in-store for Collé.

With the UK’s ‘Freedom Day’ of 19 July also comes the unlocking of countries all around the world, including in Australia, home country of rising House DJ Alex Preston. The Sydney native contributes to a worldwide party feeling today with his laidback, irresistible new slice of soul house ‘Lots Of Soulful Vocals’.

Luxuriating at a lower bpm, ‘Lots Of Soulful Vocals’ dives into the world of disco with Preston himself contributing funky basslines and moments of guitar playing too. Pulling the poolside anthem together is some inspired use of sampling, with a male, then a female, voice telling of the power of House. “Well, House music is about fun, it’s about love, it’s about unity, togetherness” the sample begins.

The DJ/surfer has raced to the forefront of house fans’ minds since the release of the massive ‘Love You Better’ in April 2021. That single is closing in on 1m streams on Spotify alone and has been played on BBC Radio 1 as well as Australia’s foremost radio station Triple J. Alex has also been receiving excellent club feedback, with several DJ’s including Jax Jones, Mark Knight, Mistajam and Arielle Free spinning - and backing - him.

"I’ve been listening to a lot of old Soul records lately and I wanted to incorporate some of those vibes into a classic house groove. I felt that the melodic parts of the track should have a real eclectic feel and then be complimented by a chunky contemporary house groove!"

PREMIERE : Alex Preston - Lots Of Soulful Vocals (Extended Mix)

German artist @reyou and Ukrainian DJ and producer @aikon_official have joined forces on new single ‘Rain’, out 30th July on Disco Halal.

A haunting, hypnotic electronic oddity, ‘Rain’ combines wandering synths with sombre breakdowns and delicate vocals. It marks Re.You ’s debut on Disco Halal, while Aikon dropped track ‘Fusion’ last January as part of the label’s ‘Singles Club’ run of releases.

Re.You also recently remixed the Aikon single ‘Coming Back’. Hailing from the small town of Ulm in southern Germany, Re.You is an esteemed DJ and
producer with over a decade in the game. More recently he dropped three-track EP ‘Is This Love’ and collaborated with Robert Jankovic on single ‘Push Me’.

A relative newcomer, Aikon has been making waves with a steady stream of acclaimed releases over the last couple of years, dropping records on labels such as Exploited Ghetto, Monaberry and Sweet Music.

‘Rain’ is an engrossing track that marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between two electronic talents.

PREMIERE: Lootbeg - CIO [a friend in need]

We don't know much about Ponzu Island except that the tracks were laying on Soundcloud for quite a while ! According to the promo of the EP, this sounds as if "Morgan Geist and Todd Terje took some acid and locked themselves in a room with a sea view, a synth, and a computer". Well I don't know for the acid part but the synth force is definitely strong here, with a retro touch that keeps it's class untill the end and a strong sense of melody, making it another Australian smash hit... again ! Andras Fox on remix duty revisiting here "Super Koto" in the form of an extended mix with a slower bpm and his magic touch here and there. Out soon on Apersonal !

Those same infectious hooks dawn into the flip. “Agfachrome RSX II” is bright, clean and joy filled; Skatebård delivering pure goodness to nurture any bodies beginning to flag. Paranoia and the break of day enters with “Kodak Portra 800”, a minimal two stepping demon that cuts like vinegar. Shape shifting synthesizer sounds from an artist who simply ignores genres.

The city was a beautiful metropolis packed with colour and bright lights. Hotel Jama was at the forefront of cultural society and had become a place in which many came to socialise and watch the world upon a luxurious Friday evening. Drinks flowed and pretty people marched importantly past the glass windows. Inside it was warm and comfortable as she sipped her drink from a long straw... The ceiling was a bubblegum pink and the walls were painted blue, much like the nature of her soul. 

Ichisan is set to release a new assortment of reworks on the prolific Bordello A Parigi record label. A colourful affair with exciting musicality, twists and turns. Oh, and a harpsichord.

Ichisan's Aperitiv (https://soundcloud.com/ichisan/sets/ichisan-aperitiv-bordello-a-parigi-rec-2017), released last year, was so good that Amsterdam based Bordello A Parigi decided to return for a second helping from his sumptuous debut album. Four choice cuts have been selected and reworked with a specific instrument focus. The harpsicord version of 'Hotel Jama' keeps the intoxicating melody of the original but allows beats to relax as notes shine with an incandescent brilliance. Drums put their feet up for the Rhodes version of 'Modri Tunel'. Deep strings and lounging lines mingle in this work of smoke swirling seduction. 'Kozmetika (Trumpet Version)' dances to a different tune. Rich bass is again central but this time brash and bold brass intertwine with funk filled bars. The last waltz arrives with the piano version of 'Terminal E'. Alluring notes ascend, rising and falling against heartwrenching guitar strings for a finale to end this ballroom inspired beauty.

Discobeton - Leave Me Superficial (Bordello a Parigi)

Im Jahre 2013 wird das Basler Flaggschiff Schallbox Records, in seiner 13 Veröffentlichung , neue Welten erkunden. Die Berliner "Antientertainers" Jens und Dennis steuern das Schallbox-Schiff als "Drunken Sailor" durch die Brandung der elektronischen Musik und zeigen ihre schöne und bunte Welt der Öffentlichkeit.

Mit dem Original "Drunken Sailor" erzählen die Antientertainers eine ganz eigene Geschichte Ihrer Schifffahrt durch die Weltmeere. Eine schöne Electro-Pop-Ballade, die schon von weitem von allen Seefahrern in den heimischen Spelunken zu hören ist.

Steve Cole mit seinen Remix, nimmt euch auf die wohl eher stürmische See mit und reduziert das Original auf seine wesentlichen Bestandteile. Vereinzelte Soundschnipsel schallen durch den Raum und werden von einem gradlinigen Beat bis zum sicheren Anlegen im Hafen getragen.

Eine funky Wurlizerline begleitet den Remix von Benno Blome. Der Sender-Mastermind liefert eine verspielte und groovende Version des betrunkenen Seglers und zeigt einmal mehr, dass er ein Meister seines Faches ist.

An Land angekommen und mit festen Boden unter den Füssen wartet dann auch gleich das nächste Abenteuer auf euch. Mit "Roleplay"fordern euch die Jungs mit minimalistischen Klängen auf, das Neuland zu erkunden.

Die digitalen Bonusremixes kommen vom Basler Cristian Tamborrini und vom Berliner Jan Slessig.

Finally, venturing even further into jacking territory, “Freiherr in der Wall” hinges upon 
syncopated, sometimes faltering beatbox rhythms, a swaggering bassline and fluttering 
arpeggiation. Coupled with hand-played chords, this is a prime example of how Dürerstuben 
can tame the beast machine and let irregularities be strengths. If you can get down with Metro 
Area, Zapp, Tensnake, and yes, even Survivor, then pick this one up.
