The 123rd FrenzyPodcast will be provided by Chontane! The Ukrainian-rooted, Berlin-grown artist is part of the new wave of producers more invested in sound design and razor-sharp productions than ever before. Chontane’s early studies in music and sound design allow for surgical precision; the results of which can be found in his densely produced tracks. Pulling in UK-style rhythms rethought at times through twitchy IDM arrangements to add to his recognizable punch, his sound is anything but conforming. As a result, his tracks stand at a stylistic crossroads between various dance genres, easily slipping into just about anyone’s tracklist if their goal is to get people moving. 

Chontane created a one-hour plus vinyl-only podcast, for which he took a dive into his tribal collection. Presenting his refined take on the old school sound that you will hear a lot more about in the future. Listen to the sound of Chontane here, enjoy!

Joining us for podcast 39 straight from New York is Holden Federico. Involving himself in music in various ways from a young age, the Philadelphia-native’s interest in production has led him to a single release on Setaoc Mass’s SK_Eleven that has made quite the impression. 

With a sharp, distinctive style, Federico glues timeless 90s techno influences with effective sound design to make club music that’s often melodically guided.

With his debut record out on SK and another one coming up very soon on the same imprint, Federico wasted no time with DJ gigs, throwing himself in the international scene alongside top-tier artists for a career that’s only getting started.

@radicalsoftness, a name which, at first sight, seems controversial and yet has a very much deeper meaning. Being a somewhat radical person when it comes to vouching for values such as the right of self expression, establishment of safer spaces and FLINTA visibility in the scene. On the other hand being a radical person stands and falls with the softest part of any human – the inner self. 

On the musical side of the coin, Radical Softness immediately evokes a sense of warmth and force at the same time, which again represents the artistic direction of the name itself. 
Powerful rhythmic patterns go hand in hand with mellow synths – together on a mission to invite dancers to reach the subconscious in an almost therapeutic way. 
Radical Softness introduces repetition to you as the means to escape daily sorrows, to feel again and gain a few hours of freedom from a seemingly fast-paced and cold outside world.

Radical Softness’ desire to be a DJ already subconsciously began in 2013 when they started working at a local bar, where they quickly became the one in charge of the music playlists. This marks the beginning of following a path down the rabbit hole into a new universe and into digging through artists entire discographies. 
Their move to Berlin in 2015 further shaped their vision of music. By that time Radical Softness was already asking people in their circle to show them how to DJ, but never felt welcome enough to actually dive head first into the blue. 

In 2019 the switch luckily flicked, they stepped behind the decks, quickly gained recognition, especially through them well-received sets on HÖR Berlin and combined their deep music collection with the ability to quickly grasp how DJing works from the core. And yet, what we hear right now is just the beginning of what Radical Softness has to offer.

As we prepare for the upcoming long weekend and our biggest show to date, we know our followers had an itch that needed scratching, so we are thrilled to introduce our latest creation of - HYPNO sounds. 

In this edition, we are honoured to have an international guest from Hamburg, Germany, who has been serving up their high voltage sound to numerous clubs across Hamburg and Berlin. The mix showcased in our latest show is a seamless blend of intricately layered percussive elements that come together to create a powerful and captivating journey of high powered grooves, that don't stop for one split second. 

So, get ready to be transported into the techno wormhole, no matter where you are.

For his mix for Miao Music he kept a steady groove of hypnotic techno at a nice rolling fast pace for the listener. It's a sound that he's been attracted to lately as he's been playing more peak hour and closing sets around Adelaide.
