Skyline by Tom Lysar is an atmospheric fusion of Melodic Indie Dance, Deep Melodic House, and subtle Darkwave elements. The track combines a steady four-on-the-floor groove with a pulsing analog synth bass and shimmering high-frequency layers, adding clarity and sparkle to the mix.

Expansive stereo pads and cinematic tremolo guitars create emotional depth, while the chest-driven mezzosoprano vocals – raw and heartfelt – remain boldly clear above the soundscape. In the pre-chorus and chorus, the arrangement opens up with wide, bright textures that capture the feeling of urban nights and neon-lit horizons.

Beneath it all, airy pads drift and expand, creating a sense of boundless space—like gliding above neon cities and endless horizons. The atmosphere is both dreamlike and propulsive, balancing delicate textures with radiant energy.

“Ikarus” captures the essence of a flight too close to the sun: bold, radiant, and endlessly ascending—a sonic tribute to the beauty and risk of chasing the impossible.

Anders Bjørn Rørbæk Pedersen, under the moniker Pfeffermouse, has carved a niche in the synthwave genre with his distinctive sound that blends elements of electro-techno, retro, and synthwave. His work extends beyond producing music for albums to composing for video games, showcasing his versatility and creative prowess. Despite the contemporary sound, Pfeffermouse draws inspiration from classic video games of the late 80s and early 90s and incorporates the utilization of sound chips and samples commonly found in consoles and home computers such as the Sega Genesis, Commodore 64, and the Amiga series. The productions of Pfeffermouse place significant emphasis on memorable melodies, driving basslines, and crisp drum sounds.
