The idea behind this piece is to establish a mood, then seamlessly shift the mood.
100% of the sounds were pulled from a library. I didn't custom make any of them for the project.

This was the first piece of music I had ever composed. It was heavily influenced by punk rock and my training as a violist. It was recorded and mixed by Paul Kirby.

For this recording, I experimented, with double tracking, mono drum kits, and and the concept of the wall of sound. (not all of those made it into the mix, but the experimentation was still done)

Vaster Than Empires But More Slow

AJ Scott and I did the sound design and effects for this project our freshman or sophomore year at Michigan Tech. The narration was written and spoken by Berry Pegg. In making this AJ and I wanted to avoid using any pulled or stock sounds from sound effects libraries. We recorded all the sound effects ourselves. This led to a few large adventures to acquire seeming small effects. 
I find the transformation of the story interesting. The book doesn't have any words or dialog. It is completely pictures. Now in this version, it is completely audio.
