Every machine has its own acoustic signature - a precise frequency that indicates whether that machine is operating at peak performance. GE engineers monitor and record these sounds to perform real-time diagnostics on airplane engines, locomotives, power turbines, and medical equipment. Musician Matthew Dear and GE Acoustics Engineer Andrew Gorton teamed up to collect and compose thousands of audio emissions from the world’s most powerful machines. The result is an original track of music titled “Drop Science.”

We're very proud to have among us this month, one of the main forces that inspired the construction of the Terminal Mainframe, and are very pleased to announce that in this transmission, he will be premiering 6 new and unreleased FSOL and Zeebox tracks - former Humanoid, and Mr. Yage himself - FSOLdigital presents... "Electric Brainstorm 10: Micro Edition".  Next, he's a pioneer of Ninja Tune Records back in the early 90's - and served up the goods alongside his pals in Coldcut - he's DJed all over the world, and mixed hundreds of hours of audio for compilations - one of the head honchos at Solid Steel - it's a pleasure to bring you his Future Shock mix - making his debut on the show, DJ Food...  Also sending data to our main server this month, is the long-running champion of ambient music - and resident DJ at The Big Chill Bar - The Irresistible Force himself, Mixmaster Morris - with a selection from his Extreme Chill Sunday series.  Prepare to fast forward the future, with an extended 40-minute dubbed out mix from legendary record producer, former Orb-conspirator, and founding member of Killing Joke, Martin Glover, aka Youth. 

Also joining us on this edition, is an otherworldly live mix of new material from acclaimed UK psychedelic / ambient pioneers Ishq, who have been releasing electronic music since the mid-90’s under various names, including Indigo Egg, Elve and Ishvara - best known for releasing the ambient masterpiece "Orchid" on Interchill back in 2002 - and pumping out gems on their V i r t u a l output ever since. We also welcome return acclaimed British producer and multi-instrumentalist Riz Maslen, aka Neotropic, in her second mix for the program. ORIGINAL Citation (Oct 2014): Rosetta’s Plasma Consortium (RPC) has uncovered a mysterious ‘song’ that Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is singing into space. The comet seems to be emitting a ‘song’ in the form of oscillations in the magnetic field in the comet’s environment. It is being sung at 40-50 millihertz, far below human hearing, which typically picks up sound between 20 Hz and 20 kHz. To make the music audible to the human ear, the frequencies have been increased in this recording. A Singing Comet

Richard Devine's demo of the Mutant Snare eurorack module (amongst others). He seems to have made good use of the external input to morph the Snare into something completely different!

His description of the patch:

"I took 5 sources into the external input, and then multiplied the output and fed it back into it self so you get this really hi-fi feedback sound at times. 
Used the Low-Gain Electronics Short Bus V2, with 5 sources running in, then took the summed output back into the Snare to get these glitchy broken like sounds, then slowly opened the decay allowing for more of the external signal coming through and then I flipped the switches to turn on and off different effects.

I multiplied the output and sent 4 sends to the HexVCA, one out to the Eventide Space, one to the intellijel Spring Ray, and one to Clouds for the granular delay stereo scatters. Being triggered by the Ladik Random R-110, for the long gate holds."
