“Hyperwide Lustre” is Orchestroll’s debut record, a mini-LP released on Montreal’s garmo – a highly curious and deeply devolved collection of music produced and performed for a run of live club sets by the duo. Jester-like, this is music that laughs at you: because it’s funny, because it’s not; because you did too much, because you did too little. Because you’re too loud; too quiet.

Wrapped in the exquisite production chops of Richard-Robitaille and Osborne-Lanthier, Hyperwide Lustre is quasi-sarcastic and fully irreverent, a shimmering hybrid of spectral dance music and avant classical; psychedelic, cinematic, fluid, and yet bejeweled with wry opulence. Lovelorn synths and haunted, clattering, percussion roll through these halls.

Like a labyrinth glimpsed beneath shifting sands, Orchestroll craft an album that feels both puzzling and oddly familiar. This is a realm of playful, idiosyncratic unease. Two puppetmasters who lost control of their puppets long ago. The keyboard whispers, but the mouse decides the tale.

“Succubus Ripcord” writhes and coils with an oneiric arrhythmia, a dissonant hybrid of meticulously spliced auditory chiaroscuro. Exhuming spectral echoes of jungle breaks from the digital crypts of the early 2000s, the track unfurls as a warped homage to the golden age of tracker-made drill-and-bass. It plunges into a swarm of synaptic spasms, where scintillations of disintegrated percussion and distended sub-bass detonate with volatile intensity. The track acts as a cyclopean centrifuge, accelerating the listener into a paroxysm of heightened frenzy within the maelstrom of techstep's rhythmic fury.

The Refugees Right of Return

Since 1948 to present, Israel’s culture of ethnic cleansing and dispossession of Palestinian Land has devised a perpetual cycle of expulsion. Millions of first, second and third generation refugees continue to inhabit camps, doomed to an impoverished exile. Over a million Palestinians have been killed in exodus from Zionist imposed famine, poverty and displacement, with no right to return to their homeland.

The photographs taken during the Nakba, mirror those taken today of the Palestinians who are being forcibly displaced from Gaza.

This release is dedicated to the men, woman and children who continue to navigate their exile in limbo.

To the woman who innovated our textiles and wrote the history and culture of Palestine with their needles.  

To the men who planted our olive and orange trees, harvested by strange hands.

To the children who had their childhood stolen, separated from the umbilical cords that once connected them to their land.

To the Palestinians who have died in exile, that never...  more
