Lexer (@lexer), now living in Leipzig, will be back with a new release on May 26th, 2014. The new EP "Hunter" will be published by Hamburg record label Der Turnbeutel (run by Oliver Schories and others), following the release of “My Princess” last year. We are happy to premiere the original track.

Am 26. Mai 2014 meldet sich Lexer (@lexer), der mittlerweile in Leipzig heimisch geworden ist, mit einem neuen Release zurück. Monitor 66's arrival onto the scene with last summers 'Triscuits' saw them pop up on a lot of top dj's radar’s, such as The Magician who opened his Magic Tape 22 mix with it. It also saw their first release on House of Disco, their adopted home. Since then the two boys from Sweden have been honing their sound through a series of lauded remixes for Tempogeist, Kolombo & Rythm Operator. Now after some painstaking studio time they are ready to release their next original work, their first solo EP, Vitae on House of Disco Records.

'Vitae' starts with the title track, which firmly re-enforces their manifesto of making music for sunsets. Bit's haunting vocals are given a different context with some invigorating melodies and bright positive basslines.

Next up is 'Virago', a slightly more sultry affair featuring some rebuilt but familiar vocals that progressively open up as if bearing their soul and plenty of shifts and depth to keep sneakers on the dancefloor.

Third on the EP is their most house orientated track to date. Hi hats keep the tempo as this one gets a little deeper, again their vocal treatments are a signature of their sound but this time with a more 90's feel.

Finally we have 'Cur' featuring Oh Deer. A truely unique end to the EP this track plays out like a love story, a fitting sunset to an accomplished and long awaited solo EP from the two young swedes. The first of many by the sounds of it

Phable was born in Mölln in 1989, growing up during Germany’s Reunification—a time of profound change and discovery. He began his classical musical education at the age of eight, laying the foundation for his future in music production. Between the ages of 11 and 18, he sang in various choirs, including the Lübeck Boys’ Choir, and even took private opera singing lessons at the Lübeck Theatre, preparing for a career as a tenor. However, he soon realized his passion lay outside classical music.

Shifting his focus to soul, rock, and funk, Phable played in several bands, honing his skills as a live musician. His journey into electronic music began in the early 2000s when Daft Punk’s Discovery captivated him—a record that remains a cornerstone of his artistic inspiration. Alongside Daft Punk, artists such as The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Damon Albarn, The Smiths, The Roots, DJ Koze, Bonobo, Jazzanova, Mos Def, James Brown, Terry Lee Brown Jr., and Zombie Nation also shaped his musical evolution.

Under the pseudonym Phable, he immersed himself in Northern Germany’s nightlife from 2012 onward. Within a year, he gained recognition in the local scene, earning residencies in various clubs. Driven by the desire to create tracks tailored to his sets, he began producing his own music. This quickly led to releases on labels like Armada, Ostfunk, Light My Fire, Wonne Musik, Pure*, and Audio Safari.

Phable’s sound is distinct, blending melodic sensuality with groovy, pumping beats—a reflection of his diverse influences and classical background, seamlessly merged with his love for modern house music.
